  1. No idea why there's a fibre one in there. The part number for the 77 breech seal is BS041 Chambers have them, i buy alot of stuff from them as they keep a huge amount of spares and their service is excellent. Here is the link. http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=24571&cat=HW77. Atb Chris. P.S. just pop the old one out with a needle being carefull to not scratch any part of the breech, then push in the new seal. Don't use any grease or oil as it'll cause the gun to diesel.
  2. Really enjoyed that read mate. I've 4 weihrauchs all second hand and shooting great. Saved a small fortune and really enjoy doing the work on them. Yep can't emphasise how important the chrono is eh! Cheers Chris.
  3. Bloody hell!! Thats the deal i'm after. Well done mate, lovely lovely lovely.
  4. I've got a full length HW80 with a V-mach kit and Titan no2 spring stuck up it. Its got a heavy MTC taipan scope on it and a rather heavy Parkerhale rimfire rated mod on the end and it shoots fantastic. Ask Simon Pianoman about them as it was his posts that made me get one and to be honest i leave my BRNO mod 2 rimmy in the cabinet these days. Once you get used to shooting it there aint a cure for wanting another. Its making just over 20ft/lbs but doesn't have that much recoil. I've been practicing like mad with it for ages and spent a small fortune on pellets and just love it. I've shot
  5. Got 2 rods for sale on the Salmon fishing forum Kriss, no takers yet i'm afraid.
  6. Got an MTC Taipan on one of my 80s and it the puppies plums pal. Btw can't have too many 80s, im trying for triplets at the mo.
  7. There is nothing wrong with Tennents..... That a thermo nuclear device detonated in the brewery wouldnt solve  Hahaha!!! Too true might taste of something after it
  8. If your in the North east of Scotland any time soon get in touch pal and i'll give it a proper service for the price of a pint, i drink English bitter and traditional scottish ales, none of that Tennents garbage. Might be somit to do with my Grandad coming from Portmouth. Chris.
  9. Right bud i'm broke but so wanting this gun i'm away to try and sell one of my salmon fly rods so would you keep it for me as i really do want this fekin beautiful stock especially. Atb Chris.
  10. Thats beautiful and i'm a left duker, is it still for sale?
  11. Lovely head shot that Davy. They allow some really gross stuff involving people being hurt in accidents, assault and they've the cheek to post this to you on a humane killing of vermin. I really don't get it. Bloody antis!!!.......... Keep up the great vids sir. Chris.
  12. As above and be carefull its not going to get you 5 years at her madges pleasure. Get it checked out and find out what power its delivering by a reputable gunsmith mate. Good luck Chris.
  13. Hi guys. Cheers Simon that Longbow guy is really good with all the right gear for doing this kind of work. As for the RWS Super fields they are pretty good to be honest, they rattle down the barrel too lol. I've lost a couple from the breech when i attempt to close the barrel after cocking the gun they are so slack which is kinda surprising considering they are sized at 5.52. I'm going to give some other pellets a go too as i'm a bit unhappy with some of the flyers in the H&N ftt. Going lamping at the end of the week so hopefully i'll get a pic or two of some bunnies to post. If anyo
  14. Yep I use Norma at the mo and they are as good as the stuff twice the price.
  15. Hi Gents. I am so happy sitting reading this post, heartening and makes me proud to be part of a bunch of bloody good guys. Many thanks for the compliments Simon, really touching coming from the Sage that you are. Incidently i've found a few youtube vids on tuning Weihrauchs by a guy who calls himself Longbow. He's a wizard and i had to pick my jaw of the ground after watching them. Seriously amazing tuning of a different level entirely. My ambition (firstly to improve my boys and my springer shooting) is to push it over the next few years to hopefully something like what he's achieving
  16. Many thanks mate. I choked the barrel of the yesterday using a purpose made collar a fraction smaller than the barrel , heated the end of the barrel and crimped it in my reckord vice. It certainly choked the barrel but did nothing for the accuracy, so i cut of the choke, recrowned the barrel and it groups well at the 30 to 50 yards but still has the bloody annoying shooting to the left of target at 15 yards. Tha barrels now 8" long and is not nice to shoot, tends to snap up, the point of balance is at the trigger and i don't like it. I'm going to get a new barrel for the recondioned now
  17. Great stuff Simon. I'd be over the moon to put a book by yourself next to my Hugh Falkus and Arthur Oglesby collection. Thanks for all the compliments, very much apreciated I've probably said it before but when my interest in springer shooting rekindled after a long overdue abcence through work/ family commitments it was your original post on Spring air rifle shooting that hit my like a ton of bricks. It was at this time i had restarted shooting again and armed with my newly aquired fac and a medley of rims and a .243. I was going through the usual i want this and that and buying all sor
  18. Simon. I feel you have many sons and your also a big brother to many of us here on this forum. Your no nonence approach, technical expertise, passion and generosity shine through and i consider it an honour crossing paths here. Many thanks for the kind words, these days are all good indeed and i can't wait for the weekend to do some target practise with my loons. Nobody stirs the spirit when talking about springers like you mate, you are to these wonderful guns to what the late great Hugh Falkus was to seatrout fishing in my opinion, long may your wise words grace these pages. I'll be fir
  19. Absolutely inspiring. Simon your a true gent as well as a genius with a rifle. I really enjoyed this thread and although i was never lucky enough to have a Dad who bothered withme ever, apart from constant bollockings for next to nothing i've been lucky enough to have 2 wonderfull boys of my own who love spending time in the country shooting and fishing with me. My biggest ambition is to have them looking back with pride at their Dad as you guys do. Everythng else pales compared to this and reading these kinds of posts fills me with renewed faith in human nature and a real goal in life put
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=qm1zFkS3Zts http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&list=ULW9NBzJaOSKU&v=W9NBzJaOSKU Right i've decided to use this guys vids to show the taking apart and assembly of the HW since he makes a great job of it. The photos that follow show me putting the kit into my . I'll try my best to explain what the pics show and armed with the vids it'll hopefully be clear to see how easy it is to do. A wee hint i'd think twice about ever cutting down a barrel, i know i'll never do it as i reckon it does nothing for the
  21. Sussed it out me reckons since the choke has been cut off the barrel i reckon the pellets are unstable on their initial exit from the barrel. Easy enough to hold a little right out to 20 and then dead on at longer ranges.
  22. Hi Simon/ Skot. Yeah i didn't bother using the turret the other night it works out at three quarters of a milldot of holdover to hit dead on. I've been having a problem with my short range with my . 25 yards out to 50 fine but anything out to 20 yards is shooting to the left by about half an inch. Checked my mounts checked the reticle is level with the gun, stripped the barrels of off both 80s last night and and made sure they were both identical from the block to the crown and found nothing out of shape. As we say up here TOT HEEDED!!!! Everything looks lovely and straight. Good group
