  1. Thanks for that Simon, totally agree with your write up, incidently your original write up on spring rifle shooting switched the lightbulb on some time ago. I decided straight after reading it that this was the way i wanted to go and i've not deviated from this path since. My first ever air rifle was an HW35 and this is what my oldest will start with and i'm on the hunt for something for my wee boy, Weihrauch again, can't see past them. Wanted advert in Scotads this Wednesday for all things Weihrauch. But for myself this little discussion on another thread about a prosport has got me thin
  2. Lightbulb moment for me this morning. Been trying hard to save for a couple of multi shot pcps for my 2 boys, idiot! Its simple, i'm doing it all wrong. I've spent the last 30 years playing with springers and the last 2 years (night and day) learning how to shoot them to a reasonable standard along with some tuning knowledge. I now shoot rims and centrefires with a fair degree of confidence all because i can shoot my HW80. I am now going to see how much they want to shoot properly by handing over 2 springers to them and sharing the next however long it takes punching paper untill the've g
  3. Got a Titan single shot pcp with a great walnut stock, its extremely accurate and has taken loads of bunnies, alas i am looking for a multi shot for my son so she's got to go.
  4. Its got to be said you guys are good, well done once again
  5. Its just aswell that lads as thick as shite, imagine how much more dangerous he'd be with a brain????............
  6. Yep, agreed. I read up on alot of this stuff in my twenties and its very common, for example a boss thats always shouting and bringing people down is hiding his own inability to lead and has no real control over a situation. Crazy place earth lol! I've had my fun its time to head of and oil my hw80 after another enjoyable paper punching sesh. Its had all the upgrades done by myself and i'm mighty proud of it and at last its pilots eventually started getting pretty good groups, its love for a lump of wood and steel
  7. I heard once of a chap who was ripped off and got his own back by getting 5 ton of horse shit delivered to the offending parties house.
  8. Just serviced my 2 HW80s and tuned the triggers. Small amounts of Bisley gun grease used as per manufacturers guidelines. No dieseling whatsoever. Getting groups of 5 pellets within a 5 pence at 30 yards with the sub 12 and within a 20 pence with the fac one. Lightened my trigger pull after polishing the surfaces of their internals (cleaned all the old grease out of them too) The sub 12 was full of grease and oil (maybe motor oil) I couldn't even achieve 2" groups with it before i stripped it. Got loads of good advice from pianoman, and i've spent loads of hours reading up on tuning, se
  9. Either too much gun grease or the wrong type of grease pal. I hope it settles down as it'll not help with your accuracy. If your ever up in Aberdeenshire take the hw and i'll fix it in half an hour for free. I love working on guns. CW.
  10. Thanks guys, What you looking for each of these 80s Adolf? CW.
  11. Starting this one up again, come on folks help me out i'll take anything hw80 related. I've been shooting mines with right handed stocks (Yes i'm cack handed) so any left handed stocks will do nicely also. Whole guns in any condition and parts also. Cash waiting. Regards Chris.
  12. Well thats the spring cut down and the recoil is much less. Thinking now that for the final tweak i might fit a Weihrauch moderator to hopefully help even more with the accuracy. Shooting pretty good for my standards though so its out with the tracer for a bunny or 2 tonight whilst the rain stays off. CW.
  13. Got one on my rabbit gun and it works a treat, nice thick milldots work a treat in the dark, as dean1 says crystal clear. They don't throw up that haze in bright sunlight like the mtc scopes. If i'd know what i know now, i'd have them instead of MTC, Elite and my XLT. Brilliant scope for the money. CW.
  14. Nah mate, from Aberdeenshire. The Thursodog is one of my fave salmon flies, thats a fair distance to shoot rabbits pal, do you do it full time?
  15. Rather fancy one of those Diana 54s or the 56. Wouldn't mind getting my 2 stage tuned by DH but since i'm in the sticks in the North of Scotland i can't really nip in with the gun. I actually love my , sad but true. If it was a choice between my centre, rims and my , wins every time, fancy a prosport too though. CW.
  16. Many thanks for the expert advice Simon, thanks also to Tron. No probs with the scope alignment and it has an arrestor stud fitted too, i'll have a fiddle with my hold and may cut the spring Brilliant write up as always. I'll report back on my findings. Cheers the now chris.
  17. Just back from my hols, sorry for the late reply, no thanks pal.
  18. My definately chocked, sorry to veer of slightly here but i'd like to ask Simon if i would be better cutting a small amount of my uncut titan no2 spring in my fac , its shooting well enough to hunt out to 35 yards but is losing a little accuracy beyond this. Admittadly she still has a bit of recoil with the full length spring and i'd like to tighten up the groups as she shot single hole groups sub 12. I still get a ragged hole at 35 yards but its not as good with the extra power. Any thoughts? Chris.
  19. Pm'd you Rob, i'd be happy to pay what you bought it from me for with all the other bits and bobs.
  20. Its perfectly legal to post an air rifle as long as its not a trade or fac item. I wouldn't write it on the parcel though. Pcp must be empty and mechanical spare parts would help to put thieving scumbags off the scent. Insurance could be a problem but you would not be breaking the law. The above was colated of the net so if anyone has any other info to add i'd be much obliged. Not interest here so i'll try the Weihrauch site me thinks.
