Tx200 Tune Or Not?
thursodog replied to crazycraddog's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
45 yards spot on! Buy some pellets, ear plugs a load of beer and a curry and be glad you didn't get it tuned. Saying that i tune my guns and no sooner do i finish with them i come up with new plans based on what I've gleaned off of here and what i can find on tuning. For example i have 2 - 97ks and they are polished with SFS and Vmach stuff, tuned triggers and they are really deadly accurate. But i know if I bite the bullet and drill 4 holes into the compression tubes, thread them, screw in delrin with thread lock and produce inner outer buttons as well as fixing the spring guide to the ba -

thursodog replied to Craig Fosse's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Brilliant restoration and write up mate. I defo can't take any credit, you did it yourself pal. You should be very proud that was a brilliant gesture to that lady and a superb effort. I had a lump in my throat after reading the woman burst into tears. Your a star mate!! All the very best Chris. -
Miles Johannesburg's Fantasy Life And Lies Exposed
thursodog replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Its obvious to me that you Si and Davy are both brilliant guys from the comments and relationships with the other members who know you personally and your brilliant and highly informative videos, some incredible shooting on the recreation park managers site chaps, hats of from me as usual. Guys like myself are in inspired to improve and hopefully shoot this well with enough practise, He'll no doubt in time disappear up his own arse whilst good honourable guys like yourselves will be here doing your good work for a very long time. All the very best from North of the border. Chris. -
If its .177 pm me we could do a deal? I've got something you could shoot as accurately as your S200 and is called an HW80. I've 2 80s and i need to sell one to pay for a .177 S200 for work purposes (a large amount of pigeons and crows which require a fast reload as there hundreds of them and they take flight quick) Don't get me wrong my springers are what i enjoy but sometimes i need to maximise my culling effort to keep the farmer happy. F1 Chrony .. Indoor 'lighting'
thursodog replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi SKot. Yeah the lighting is a pain in the arse. I use mines in the man cave with the tube lights switched of and a large halogen light hung over the top and it works fine. I still get error 1 and 2 up sometimes and the odd silly reading which is about a 100 fps more than the rest of a 10 shot string which i know aint the gun. Generally though its giving good results and i'd say yes to the lighting system if its not too expensive. I don't bother about printing i just write down my results and head inside for a coffee in front of this contraption to convert my readings to fpe. http:// -
Beautiful. I cant see past these the now. I must admit I like my plastic kt stock and the guns deadly accurate.

Thats an amazing transformation, really enjoyed this. Cheers Chris.

Tony Wall also does an insert for about 60 quid to fit into the mod. Havn't seen one but heard they are very good, going to buy one myself when i've the money to spend.

Restoring A Rather Negelcted Hw80
thursodog replied to thursodog's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Hey thanks guys. Here's a pic of the stock spacers, they are made from hdpe which i've found out is a total bitch to work with. Not entirely happy with them but they do the job. I've also stuck the full length barrel that i was given along with the gun and it balances well. I'll be out during the week once this bloody rain goes to try her out with the new barrel. http://s203.photobucket.com/user/thursodog/media/HW80Stockspacers001_zps2307ae68.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 Atb Chris. -

Thanks for the compliments As you can see i've not had to do any radical engineering here, just a really thorough polish up of the internals and a light coating of Bisley gun grease, my personal fav -

thursodog replied to thursodog's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Simon. Thanks for the great compliments mate, great to read your 97 is on top form and getting the tlc from a top gunsmith that it deserves. Here's a pic of the piston sleeve, I've been looking all over for an exact thickness of steel all week to make a perfect fitting sleeve and had no luck from shops to engineering companies and suppliers and then on Friday Nicks asked me if i was keeping my old travel mug for a reason as it was taking up space in her cupboard. I said nah chuck it out so it was duly handed to me for the bucket and as soon as i looked at delapidated thing with its sta -
Good luck with your 97, al bet its brilliant! I wish i lived closer I'd never be out of the place.

A big hello from bonnie Scotland, can't beat the air rifles. All the best Chris.

Got the same prob here, i end up paying sub 100 quid for badly neglected Weihrauchs on the odd occasion they come up (hardly ever) Sometimes see them for sale on fleabay all stripped with the parts listed separately so the seller makes more money, i see alot of cocking aids that may help in sound reduction on there too C Edit - I've posted wanted on here but no luck as yet.
-
Thanks for the interest mate but i'm not risking anything these days. Chris.
-
No worries mate thanks for the interest, mines flipped when my new rifle arrived the other day, i said 'Sorry babe i thought i told you i was buying it' I'm pushing my luck on that story now, might have to think up a new excuse as i've used them all including its so cheap its a fantastic investment and i will always get my money back on it etc

Over The Moon With My New .177 97Kt.
thursodog replied to thursodog's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
No worries Yeah the Vmach is great. I like their piston liners and pistin seals. Them and Tonys service kit going into a gun soon for another trial. Chucking it down here. I went and stuck in new delrin buttons to my .22 v mach and cleaned the barrel but both of the 80s are nowhere near as accurate as the 97s. Maybe if I practise hard enough I'll get their groups to be as good as the 97s. -

thursodog replied to thursodog's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Morning SKot. If you don't want to attempt it mate just post the trigger up to me and I'll tune it for you. I'll pm my address, i can do it in an evening and have it back to you within a day or 2. I set mines at 2 pounds and its beautiful once the bits are polished up. Alternatively just send the whole gun up and i'll do the same to it as i have with mines. Makes a helluva difference and i really enjoy working on them. No fee just a favour to another keen airgunner pal. Atb Chris. BTW. The high quality spring from SFS is highly recommended.
