  1. My old but trusty till Tuesday Landy failed its mot and i stupidly decided to sell my to pay for the parts needed to make her legal again. Then i woke up this morning and decided i was an idiot for even contemplating this and withdrew my offer. The moment of danger passed and what the hell I'll use my visa and worry about paying it later, in the mean time I'm going out all day Sat with my lovely for some targets and hopefully a pigeon or 2 so we can have a lovely pigeon breast salad with a glass or 2 of the red stuff on Saturday night, who gives a SH*T about money when there's shooting and
  2. 80s aint heavy for whiskey swilling porridge munching Jocks like me We strap 2 97ks to our chest too just incase there's 3 rabbits so we can drop them before they know whats hit their mates. Regards Jock Rambo Dog
  3. Lavely!!!! Gotta luv gun porn, off to bed now!!! lol I second what Moxy wrote, my brand spanker was as stiff as a board to cock and very rough due to the burrs everywhere and the cocking slot was left razor sharp. Lukily i only half cocked it once and could hear and feel sharp metal digging in, sure enough i found scratches on the air cylinder made by the cocking slot which were duly polished out. Surprisingly the spring had been flattened and ground on both ends, rather rough round the edges but at least it had been done. Better than new now though after a fettle which lets face it we s
  4. Bought a Leupold rifleman in the States this year for 200 quid and a Simmons WTC for a 100 quid with the same ret and mag and the Simmons is the superior scope in quality of sight picture/clarity etc. Chris
  5. This is my gun which is making about 21.5 fpe. All work done by me includes polished piston with 4mm delrin buttons sunk in and a vmach piston seal and liner. Polished air reciever new high pressure breech seal, quick change cocking lever pin. Vmach fac spring, guide and tophat. The trigger was taken apart and all sears polished . Trigger lets of at under 2 pounds and greatly enhances the guns performance. All rough edges and cocking slot have been honed and polished smooth. This gun is very accurate and shoots super smooth for a high powered springer. Excellent condition but with a fe
  6. Weihrauch HW80 Spring rifle making 22 fpe and deadly accurate. It has a tuned trigger unit, delrin buttons drilled into the piston to reduce recoil, a V Mach spring, top hat, spring guide, piston seal and piston sleeve. All internals are highly polished a new high pressure breech seal, a quick change cocking lever pin, swivels and a shoulder strap. Its only just run in and should last a life time with due care. It cost me nearly 500 for everything and thats not including the many hours of work spent on the gun. £300 posted to your door.
  7. I'm away to get a couple myself from a hardware store. PM your addy and al send one to you.
  8. Hi Webster. Its the carbine .177. Very well balanced and has the old 25mm piston which i prefer. Underneath the dirt and rust it looks so well built i really want it. I'm going to buy it if the farmer agrees to part company as i want to try fitting some screw in buttons that will take up any slack and do the tune up on the trigger and the usual polish up. I'm getting in touch with a guy who has a machine shop too to sort out using a proper metal lathe to make a pukka top hat and fixed into the back block spring guide in stainless for a more advanced tune, i might even port it to John Bowk
  9. Cheers SKot not at all mate i know it was well meant. Its good to get a bargain and if it shoots well I'll hold onto it as I'm rather obsessed with .177 and this model at the mo, i love my but i can't ring out the same accuracy as i can with my 97s and i don't have the money to keep 2 80s so the refurbed one had to go. Atb Chris.
  10. Wow thats beautiful mate. A very good price too, i had one eye on it and was very very tempted myself. Hope you have a great time with it. C
  11. Hi folks. Just sold my last restoration to fund a possible new one and I'm interested in what you guys think would be a good price to buy this old 77 for. I spoke to the bloke already with no idea that he intended to sell and told him it would still be worth about quid in its present condition. Its about 20 years old with a good well kept stock but has a little bit of surface rust as it lives in a farm garage. Iron sights and the trigger has dried out and doesn't work (easy job) Its alot better looking than my last i just sold before i did the work on it and is screaming for so
  12. Hi folks. The gun can be seen in my posts showing the restoration. Shoots H&N FTT 5.53 spot on and is for the gun without a scope. Its making 11.4 fpe and isn't bedded in yet. Only shot about 100 pellets through it. Must go to foot the bill for an old HW77 I'm about to buy. Very accurate here. 150 pounds plus postage. SOLD. Thanks for looking.
  13. Cracking shot mate, really enjoyed the vid and write up too. Very well done Chris.
  14. Thats one beautiful rifle mate. Great restoration, video and blisteringly good shooting, i aint able to shoot this good with my ones, I'm just not good enough yet. A great point made about the service kits too, i was guilty of calling them tuning kits too until Tony's other half gave me a friendly ticking off and set me straight I'm so looking forward to the vid on Tony tuning up a springer, this will be brilliant I'm sure. Cheers and all the best Chris.
  15. Hi Simon, brilliant read and a great out come from Andy and SFS on the quality kit and tuning work along with your stunning shooting ability. I'm using the same pellets as SKot and they are bloody brilliant out to 70 mts with 3 1/2 mildots hold over. As ever inspired by your passion for these boingy things that don't boing Cheers and all the best Chris.
  16. Archie. As we in Scotland. Yer i fekin Mannie min.
  17. Thanks Blackdug, and many thanks Simon for the compliments and a very interesting bit of history there Sir. Great hearing about how your Dad fettled and tuned these guns and after looking at the trigger on this one he must be a very good engineer to be making these sears and other parts. You got me thinking about the trigger and I've restripped it and took a closer look at just how it all works and have made a few adjustments with a small hone which has brought it back to a proper 2 stage trigger instead of the rather heavy pull with no disernable second stage. Nice and light now but still
  18. Hi guys. Met a lad during the week who is airgun daft but with not much money to spend on anything good. I was at his work servicing oil burners. We got chatting and it turns out he shoots an old Webley Omega and a Hatstand. We have permission to shoot on his work premises which is a local grain drying depot full of pigeons and crows so at a lunch time we had a plink at a target with both rifles and i was pleasantly surprised to find the Omega is very consistent on accuracy. It was rather twangy and the trigger wasn't nice so i told the lad i was going to try and tune it to the best i cou
  19. Well done Bodie great shooting indeed with the laserglide and Hornet. Aahh the 97, just got to love em
  20. I stick my pics onto photobucket which has a url enable icon at the bottom of the pic, then i simple copy and paste.
  21. I shot a Gamo yesterday and it was utterly fab looking and totally disgusting to shoot, light weight and just pure and utter bollocks. I've been spoiled. If i win the lottery i'm going to use these and hatstands to hold up tomato plants. Chris.
