  1. The wooden stock is suseptable to expansion and contraction in different temperatures which I have read can be enought to change the poi. I'm maybe being a bit ott. Still fancy the ambi wooden one though. Might place a swap ad and see wat happens. C
  2. Am I doing something that may be illegal or frowned upon going on a roe stalk in Scotland on New years day? I don't think I am and cannot find any literature saying I can't. Any advise would be most welcome as I have only been stalking 3 years. Thanks in advance Chris
  3. Cracking Sir! Can't beat the old timers on the build quality, shows a mile away on this beauty. Chris.
  4. Cheers for the positive comments folks. I hope all of you have success in what's left of this year and into next year. The bloody rain has not stopped here for 2 days now and I'm climbing the walls. Had a drive round yesterday but they are keeping their heads down. There's over 20 roe causing havoc for the local farmers that I help out so hopefully It'll improve and I can get out for a stalk. Atb Chris.
  5. Absolutely STUNNING! I'd love to learn how to get a finish that good. C
  6. Great post this, cheers all and a happy ending too. Its put right in the mood for some prehogmany plinking with my old before getting stuck into the beer tonight. Regards Chris.
  7. You know what Skot, I've been thinking a bit of wood is on the cards once I get some pennies together, It'll get a pound of lead shoved into it to get things nice and stable though. I still reckon the plastic muck holds a better zero though pal. Can't be sure but this thing is cock on for now. C
  8. Its not had a chance to bed in yet (not even a hundred pellets so far) but the fps spread was 13 over 20 shots averaging 11.4 fpe. Its not hold sensitive either and I can shoot in a nice relaxed manner with not too much focus on getting everything bang on down to the slow heart beat stuff. Its f***ing awesome dudes? Love is in the air dadada da da da. Right dudes I'm at a funny place though as I have an , 2 - 97s and a lovely wee 57 that no longer need work done and I've realised that the fettling and tuning is part of the passion. Don't know where to go now in the man cave. Do
  9. If you don't want to eat it or have anybody who would appreciate it then definitely don't kill it. Which I reckon is a shame as you are at that curious stage and it may well awaken the hunter gatherer sitting sub surface as it is in most people, even the anti's have it but its buried deep in delusional furry cuddling shite. It runs strong in some of us from a young age. I killed my first animal when I was 12 (2lb seatrout) and was completely over the moon at the thrill of it and the fact that it awoke a deep primordial instinct of the hunter gatherer in me. That along with the thrill of ta
  10. Hi folks. This is my 97 I bought last summer. I've completely stripped, cleaned, polished, fixed the spring guide to the end block, tuned the trigger etc and bought a beautiful V-Glide from Steve Pope of V-Mach. Its shoots bleeding accurately and has had a bit of weight added to the stock, not a gun for the noodle arms department at nearly 13 pounds scoped but nearly no recoil and as smooth a my mother in laws thighs. Added a brass trigger guard and screws for a bit of bling and an adjustable butt pad. Chuffed to bits with its performance and looks. Atb Chris.
  11. Hi folks. Don't normally post my roe pics but decided to start getting involved a bit plus one more shooter is better than one more anti I reckons. Got these 2 just as it was getting dark, my perm is 2 minutes from the house and is a great place to unwind at the weekends and when the light nights come back in. I had been out for about 3 hours and was heading back to the motor to head home when low and behold these 2 were in the field next to my motor. I was lucky that there was a dyke between myself and them an quickly dropped behind it and crawled on all 4s for a sneaky look to see that t
  12. Hi. Got a lovely Weihrauch HW57. Hawke 3×9-40 scope. Realtree gun bag and a full tin of pellets. Extremely accurate and recently serviced. £170 posted. Regards Chris Western.
  13. Yep the moly does help. Watch the vid on assembly on this thread and follow it and you won't go wrong. Regards C
  14. Lol, I'm talking to someone about HW80s on my Galaxy and I posted my reply to him which should have been on my FB page and not here. Oops C
  15. A not twangy Steve pope V-Glide video of my .177 97KT synthetic on my phone but unfortunately I can't get pics and vids downloaded these days. My .177 has no twang and is super smooth to shoot. Was accurate out of the box but twangy till I bought he V-glide and tuned my trigger. Chris.
  16. Thanks Webster, looking forward to a meet and shoot. Chris.
  17. Thanks for the offer. No probs. It makes a difference to accuracy once their tuned and breaking nicely with a light pull. It will have to wait till the new year though as I'm going to be very busy with my other half and our boys over the next while. We can hook up and I'll take my Springers along for a comparison. Atb Chris.
  18. Thanks Taito, makes perfect sense to me sir. All the best Chris.
  19. Hi Webster. Thanks for the offer pal, that would be good. I'd like to compare it with my 97, forgot to mention the one I'm after is .177. Cheers Chris.
  20. Hi folks. I'm trying to persuade a lad i know to part with a very neglected HW77 with a 25mm piston. It needs a total strip, reblue etc etc......... What I'm thinking though is would the 25mm piston etc produce less recoil than the updated 26 mm gubbings? I read somewhere that this is the case but was wondering if anyone can help me with this? Cheers folks Chris.
  21. Cheers lads. Tried all of the above to no avail. Was wanting to show off my 97 V -Glide with a few pigeons and wabbits.
  22. Never had a prob before now I can't get it to work? Any ideas folks? Thanks in advance Chris.
  23. I've just wept into my soup, which has taken 3 hours to eat as the fekin bowl keeps filling up with salty tears! Seriously though all the best with the beauty my friend. I'll bet your hitting nats bollocks at a 100 yards with that tool pal. Makes me feel ok now about shooting loads of pigeons in the barns with my Scorpion T10, ok its not the best pcp out there but its doing a great honest job on the pigeons. BTW Santa is coming early this year, my V-Glide is arriving in the morning from Steve Pope which is going straight into the new HW97KT, its all laid out ready to be rebuilt and played
