Here's a couple of vids on taking them apart and relubing. Watch out for sharp edges and don't concern yourself about the spring removal as the sub 12 80s have little or no preload. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm1zFkS3Zts http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9NBzJaOSKU

The recoil on them is not excessive but is also not so refined as a tuned gun. Should still manage good groups on paper to start with. Chris

Hi mate. The best way of doing this is to take it to a shop such as SFS and get them to either do it or demo it for you to see how its done. Its not difficult but its easy to make the gun unsafe if you slacken the adjuster screw too much. I have a hole in my garage roof that's testimony to this. I had slackened the screw too much and when I released the safety catch the fired without me touching the trigger. I started writing the procedure but deleted it pal as it is best to actually be standing next to whoever is doing the demo. I'll see how I'm sorted for making a wee video on the sub

Hi mate. The easiest and best option is to send it to either of the pros mentioned above if you have not done this sort of thing before. I've worked my way up from fettling to doing a full tune on my and its fiddly but very enjoyable. The pros can grind down and button the piston, size the cylinder, port the transfer port, fit a top quality piston seal, upgrade the barrel shims, line your piston, fit good quality spring guide and top hat, fix the guide to your end block, fit a top quality main spring and tune up the record trigger so it shoots beautifully. I've done this to my and its cu

Which Gun Lubricants Do I Need To Service A Tx200
thursodog replied to dangerousdan's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Bisley gun grease. A tub for a fiver has over a dozen springers for me and still has enough for another dozen or so. Less is best. A wee smear to the piston and seal, another tiny smear on the inside of the piston cylinder and lastly a little smear to the spring. A small dollop on yer finger the size of your pinky nail is all that's needed, no more. You could also strip the trigger, clean all the crap that the makers put in and apply a little dry lube to the sears. I use WD40 dry lube which I apply with a darning needle, its in liquid form and dries as a very fine film of grease. Job do -
Can't wait to see the work unfolding [BANNED TEXT]. That stock is bloody amazing! Atb Chris.

Getting The Truth From The Man Himself
thursodog replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Hello everyone. Let the critics talk themselves into the hole they first crawled out of, soon they will be a distant echo then nothing. I also think the critics get off on the reaction of others defending the good work done as it means someone is communicating with them which allows them the delusion that they are in fact part of something which is not really the case. Nasty pieces of work with no real friends in reality, I reckon. Joseph Preindl, Abbé Stadler, Dionys Weber were being a bit arsey at Beethovens abitility to do something they would never have dreamt or thought -
As above in excellent condition, loads of power for the big rivers and comes in makers bag and with a dozen salmon flies tied by myself. £120 posted to mainland UK. Grab a bargain Chris.

Just put my 3rd pair of Le Chameau back. 5 leaking boots so far, going to try the Harlika Upland next, here's hoping. C -
My Steyr Prohunter in .243 does a proper job on them in the same way that my .22 HW in fac and my sub 12 HW 97 does on rabbits. Regards C

Spring air rifle shooting.

Lets keep Simons masterpiece on the front page where it rightly deserves to be kept. I read this post and always come away with goose bumps and a strong desire to try harder. Brilliant! Chris -
Cheers Gurtwuz. Not a difficult job but requires a bit of attention to detail. The sizing is the critical bit. Those ebay pistons look the dogs. A piston liner and a hone to true up the cylinder bore help also, I've seen a couple of 80s that are a little tighter at the thread end compared to the barrel end. Tune the trigger and set to 2lbs to get a brilliant ebay will take the work out of it. C

Tips For Tuning Help
thursodog replied to mwncidur's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Ah sorry to hear about the shotty pal, Let me know how you guys get on with it. S200 is exactly what I'm looking for the wee fella to hunt with as the scorpion is too heavy and I don't feel he is ready to hunt with his springer yet. Great wee guns indeed, I'd use it myself for pigeon and rabbit control too when a fast reload is needed. All the best for now pal Chris. -

Fill the compression tube with P4 and wire to the mains at a safe distance from the house then head for a gun shop that sells Weihrauch or Air Arms. Alternatively I've heard you can achieve similar results with an angle grinder and blow torch which completely eliminates any recoil from the Hatstand. -

Oh Sh!t mate I'm really sorry to hear that, I spoke to him missis about a week and a half ago when he thought he had the flu to begin with, I hope he makes a good recovery. Many thanks for letting me know Davy and also many thanks for the compliment. If you hear of any updates on how he is I'd be mighty grateful if you could let me know as he is such a nice bloke and I don't want to bother them at this difficult time. Thanks pal. Chris. -
Hi folks. This is some bits and pieces I have done lately to my 97s. The .177 black 97kt is awaiting a V-Glide from V-Mach which I can't wait to get hold of. First of was to get a good balance on the stock of the KT. I completely over done it though and had a scoped gun of just over a stone LOL Bloody accurate with no recoil but just not on for hunting so I scooped a lot of it out to drop the set up to just over 11 lb which sits nicely and shoots really nice now. I'm now waiting for one of these babies to come from V-Mach for the.177 97KT which already has a tuned trigger a

Hi folks. This is my 7 year old with 4 of 6 pigeons he shot on Sunday night at a farm we shoot at. The birds were laid up in the rafters of the barn and were taken out to about 25 yards with the scorpion and a red lamp which they did not seem to mind. He practises with me a lot with springer and pcp so I let him loose on the live stuff after he consistently shot good accurate groups to 40 yards with his HW57 and the pcp. A bit of a natural I reckon and just loves it. I think his smile says it all and makes me feel lucky to have lads who like the stuff I'm into also. Happy days. Atb
