  8. Hi Mick. Sorry to hear about your stock buddy. The inletting for the action is difficult to do, unless you are good with a router. I actualy got a Carpenter friend of mine to do my inletting. You could try asking a joiners shop if they could help you? If you do have a go, please put your work up here with pictures for us to have a look at. Good luck mate, hope you get it sorted. ATB. Bill. will do am just about to do pic's on here, still learning how, but the domin8or gas bottle is round nd the stock is held on by the gas tube at the fore end so it about 15 inch
  9. But if rabbits are your only legal quarry surely a collie/grey will give you enough stamina and speed...As i said its all down to personel preference, i personally think a bull lurcher, in the majority are calmer than wheaten or collie crosses. In my opinion far too many people assume bull lurchers are only capable of being point and slip merchants, i have owned and know many that are good ferreting dogs, lampers and more than capable of using their nose.... most on here read your words but dont think its true, why try to tell them they have made there minds up before they have seen a go

  23. you can get a lurcher whipet x game nd working stock or any lurcher x pup working stock for£100 or less in most adds, try getting a whippet for that price, most whippets are too skinny nd cost to much for what they are; a bit faster than a lurcher, but will cost you more in vet bills,in my veiw,, how fast do you need to catch a rabbit nd at what price?.am sure you can ask for a good working line of lurcher close to you on here, leave the whippets to the track men who can pay top price for them, atb mick
  24. my first dog was a jack russel when i was 7,it was only good for marking rats it wouldnt kill owt nd had a knack of finding birds nest on floor,it was killed when i was 10 years old  the first lurcher i saw was a sandy norfolk type,nd use to follow me on walks hunting at 12 years old that dog could catch hares "come on luke" it would jump wall to come with me  used to get done for taking it out coursing off the owner if he caught me,things you do as a kid,,
