    how thik wos the file to start off with mate file was 7mm thick its now 5 mm thick i just grind teeth of of file,but if you heat it up first then let it cool slow its easier to work with then when you have it how you want heat it up again and cool it quick,that way it hardens the knive back up,,i asked this mate of mine nd got info of net on how to do it,if you want to thin it down you use a lioniser,but i like it that thick it just feels right,its as sharpe as an opinel but edge last longer

    am trying to thin down the sharp edge mate have got an edge on it but a dont think its thin enough to keep sharp it needs to be 22 degree's angle on each side,you can make a jig to get it spot on or use grinder nd do it by eye,now ive done my first pic i will show you my other knive am making out of a file,,,

    in these times an ages carnt myxi be wiped out,,you get the antis moaning about hunting with dogs,but no one trys to stop this vile desease of rabbits,,,is there no cure at all,,, what can help the wild rabbits of uk,cos id be lost without them,,most lurchermen hunt them but myxi wipes out loads every other year,just a thought lads any views,atb mick

    you could also use balls of wet bog roll,,aim at a board as practice in shed or garage,

    Shhh don't tell my local shoot but my favourite day for a mooch on my permission is the day after a shoot... just being humane if my lurcher finds the odd pricked bird! is that possible with all these super gundogs about,,,just a thought i would never take the masters birds me

    What would be the advantage of putting greyhound into a gundog?........... you thinking it hasnt all ready been done,lab hybrid vigor springs to mind,but you would lose your pedigree cash,for a better dog

    better use the lurcher,the day after the shoot to find the gamebirds,all these gundogs have left,,but that never happens now dose it?now if you cross a gundog with a greyhound its a lurcher fact!,,,its all about £££,bloodlines,get the best gundog you know nd cross it with a greyhound,most of the pups will make better gundogs if trained same,,,but dont tell them its a lurcher,,, :laugh:

    keep trying,the kill point is smack in middle of your forks nd then up a bit,,if you look down the elastic when its streached,get the target in the middle of your forks,try to keep elastic straight level,then put the catty forks middle on the object,,dont flinch when you release or shut your eyes,then you can see where your hitting,try it on a pond at a floating bottle,that way you can see where your hitting,then adjust to hit,,atb mick
