Obviously the terriers only get a jab when they need it, it's not like anyone is saying jab them before they go out on the off chance their dog will get bit.

Rob284 When i take my terriers to my vet the FIRST thing he does is jab them with penicillin, my vet lives in the area I do a lot of digging in so I call into his house if he's in and get my dogs seen to there and then. By your reckoning should I wait until my terriers are stinking rotten before i use antibiotics ? Don't be under any illusions terriers that play rough in filth will get infections regardless of your cleaning. If it's a case of a few bumps and knocks they'll be fine but when they need it why wait.

You can't administer tablets either unless you'd had the go ahead from a vet.

I take it you've never had a hard terrier, why would you wait for any infection to manifest itself when it's quiet clearly going to happen ?

Prevention is better than a cure, be aware, injecting a dog is something the RSPCA will jump on you from a great height for.

I'd have to say in all honesty Emma sounds ruthless on the phone, she spoke to me like I was retarded and I'd f****d both boxes. In reality they gave me a first class service and I've no complaints, the phone manner ? WOMAN PROBLEMS !!

I sent my two boxes back last week after a short phone call with Emma, to be fair Emma has too deal with us unwashed fuckers on a daily basis and her phone manner comes across as grating to say the least. I was fully expecting a bill with every excuse in the book why it was my fault, bla, bla, bla. One box had an LED bulb out and the other was almost unusable because of the switch. The box with the dodgy LED was a few months off running out of warranty but the dodgy switch one was new last year, both were scrapped and I had to brand new boxes this morning in the post. You can't fault them

I can only speak from experience, both parents have to carry the recessive gene, once it's in, it's in. I've had undershot pups from two perfect mouthed parents and perfect mouths from two undershot parents. It can and will pop up to varying degrees whenever you breed from two dogs that carry the fault, the only way to begin to come away from it is plenty of research on the parents to keep away from it, but in all honesty if that's the only problem you've got I wouldn't loose any sleep about it.

Rough dogs only ball up in clay once in the season, I look forward to it, if they don't self strip to ground it leaves nice tags to strip them with when you get in.

One last observation, you'll get foxes out in all sorts of weather, in all manner of conditions and temperatures, their coats are as soft as a bag of bollocks though

All coats will hold water, but some will shake it off easier. The difference I find with a harsh double coat is it's harder for rain to penatrate it. This bitch has a soft coat, it doesn't hold out rain but it doesn't affect her work. I don't think we get the weather anymore that should dictate the dogs coats, most people drive to earths in 4x4's or quads to.

Rough with a double coat and the coat should be harsh not soft.

Pick them by the handful and rub them in, I do it all the time because I'm tough as ! Seriously though it will get you used to them and reduce the effects drastically, you've just got to have the first few stings lol.

That's unless you get the boys with two or three fictitious accounts and names. Like yourself I've spotted a few that post pictures on here and also on FB, it's nice to have a face to put to the name you've seen on here but it's just as easy for the people that would do us harm to fish the net.
