The yotes are to quick for an average bull x, they've crossed with wolves from what i saw on the TV. I'm no lurcher man but from what I saw they ran at a steady pace until they were pressured and then stepped on the gas. The dog yotes were up for it, one in particular came to meet the dogs. Rippem like I've said before, if you do get over you'll have your eyes opened, the size of the game and the earths they live in are on a much grander scale.

I had coons, coyote and possum, the possum we came across were collateral damage lol. I wanted an American badger more than anything but it wasn't too be.

No ground hogs, from what I heard they are nothing, I'm not saying that to be argumentative just repeating what I've heard
-
And before you say I'm full of shit I have pictures to prove it

I had 96 coons in a couple of days, the dogs were beat to hell .

That's the same shovel I put up, I wouldn't leave home without one

That one is a shovel I'm looking for one with smaller blade If you're digging with it you wouldn't want it any smaller, that's what I use, blade size two as rabbit hunter says

I've been over the pond and there's no comparison in the earth's or the shear amount of work for a terrier. The barns are a good bit of fun, they hold plenty of coons but fail in comparison completely. I never bumped into an American badger, the setts they excavate are nothing, imagine the easiest puppy earth you could start a terrier in and half it. The Fox is the exact same fox, vulpes vulpes, they do have the grey fox they're smaller. The terriers I saw work the coon got knocked up fairly badly, they're no pushover.

Shame to loose the characters in life, RIP
-
It's a hard one to know when to let go, after a few run ins with the powers that be and a bad accident I'm seriously considering knocking it on the head myself. The trouble with terrier work is it's f***ing addictive, I go lamping and just end up wondering from earth to earth just to see if they've got any trade on lol. I don't personally don't want to get a point in life where I'm desperately trying to hang on to an identity that I can't actually fulfill. Each to their own but IMO if you can't work the banjo it's time to pack it up, no room for passengers.

Gordon's a good bloke, never dug to his dogs but as a man I like him. He's got a good yard and plenty of work for them, I hope he carries on for many a year.

More likely the A50 , it runs straight through Stoke and it's an old Roman road. -

that is true as im white my mrs is white ,yet our son is brown with afro hair ,the mrs said its just a throwback from either side of our ancestry! I've actually sat in a house with a lad I hadn't seen in a few years that had two of those exact throw backs ! He honestly believed they were his..........I remembered why I didn't visit anymore and haven't been back since -
and thats fine..but you cant knock him for what theve done. Maybe his dogs are not the same as yesteryear. You get old and see what happens with you..things change. Just like in the pits. Theres old timers who never sold a dog. But as they got old they did. And over here we need small dogs not minatur pits..we need small dogs that work..and by the way what do you call small? 12lbs? Because thays what we need.. I'm not trying to offend you or Brian, it's a case of horses for courses, 12 lbs would be of no use to me or 90% of the UK's terrier men. Brian's had a massive influence on terriers, so

Who Has Pure Nuttall Terriers
dillydog replied to foxhunting1's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
The crime of generalisation and experience, in my experience to most Russell's are shite, hunt terriers at best. I'd be a fool to think there's no such thing as a yard of good digging Russell's, I know of one and I'm told of others but I've yet to see them under the sod. Brian keeps diminutive tiny terriers, I don't care if he's God like, there's terrier work and then there's terrier work. There's tubes and then there's tubes, there's game and then there's educated game, horses for courses and each to their own. -
f**k off to bed, I'm running out of likes. There's some bollocks spoke on here

It could only give you a chocolate if both parents carry the recessive gene And by line breeding are you not just increasing the possibility of putting 2 together that have it Yes, line breeding pretty much guarantees you'll get the recessive gene on both sides. -

Now that brought back a nasty memory, the first terrier I picked up by the tail ( thinking I'd give it a try at 15 years old) I stuck my thumb right in his glory hole ! Word of advice, don't grip them with your thumb on the down side and don't hold out at arms length lol
