  1. Some are just born that way, some change with work but most don't. In my honest opinion, it's better off pts.
  2. I usually keep nothing but bitches, I let two bitches go as these two dogs were leaving the nest. I got wrote off in a bad crash and didn't think I'd ever get back to it, keeping the two dogs from another litter gave me another twelve months rest. They usually all enter well but I don't rush them on with tons of work, slowly, slowly, catchy monkey.
  3. Sat on my arse pointing the 4.10 at him, one nasty hormonal fox
  4. More of a five hour mate, we spent an hour cleaning up
  5. Only ten foot Treehands but ten foot of pain
  6. The dog on the left, rough coated one. He was marking strong last season, he just wasn't old enough or mature enough
  7. Not quite two years old, about twenty months old
  8. Not bad for a youngsters fifth dig, sorry there's no more pictures, it went on into the dark and the phone couldn't pick up the detail. The young dog Tim went in at 11.30 and we came off at 5.30 as broken men lol. If we didn't have a sharptooth and a heavy graft we'd still be there.
  9. It's a shame when it comes to this, I suppose it's a man thing, new year, new start........ Agree to disagree
  10. It'll run through the kennels, swap from one dog to the next, there's not a lot you can do. Oxytetracycline is useful for keeping any secondary infection down, always ask for advice from your vet. There's inoculations available but there's so many different strains of kennel cough it's almost impossible to stop it, all it'll do is give you a good night's sleep thinking you did your bit.
  11. I'll believe it when I see it, good luck keeping them going if they're right.
  12. I spoke to my old mate about this, he dug with BN for years, he never knew him to keep any borders at all. The terrier he had was one eighth border and it came of GM, it was hard as hell and it got retired with a keeper for fox control. George M before you all get confused
  13. Bad terriers, bad owners and a terrible way of conducting yourself. This is how the bulk of terrier work was done when I started, I'm glad to say it's a different kettle of fish now.
  14. Morton there wasn't a "BEST" , there wasn't anything worth feeding at all
  15. It's a Beddy thread, my honest opinion about every single man and dog on the bank is exactly the same as the Beddy....... Useless !!
  16. We all start off young, dumb, naive and full of vinegar.Geez we make a twat of ourselves whilst we traipse the pilgrims path to salvation and recognition. We all needed to learn,at least a dozen times,we all made more than a dozen errors of judgement and we all certainly all made a total twats of ourselves, more than we may wish to answer to.The tinternet as an habit of hanging, drawing and quartering any individual before they serve their time and penance, many of us had the luxury of making our mistakes before such times and flew under the radar because of it.Im so thankful the tinternet was not a
  17. Rusty was bred by rambo to meg of brynwood by j piggin cheers, all long gone. treacle was a quarter lakey, i know she was out of rambo, but can't recall the half cross she was out of?Yokel By Rambo, they can't be OUT OF a dog ! I wouldn't admit anything I had was by that rubbish in a court of law, if you r terriers suit you it came from the Dam.
  18. I was talking to a local keeper a couple of days ago and he can't even see in drizzle. He says it makes the whole screen look fuzzy and you might as well stay in bed .
  19. The fire brigade used to use them to try and locate terriers lost to ground around here, it used to be in the paper quite often. I can't ever remember them having any success, they treated it like a training day and f****d about.
  20. Utter bollocks ! Just because you think it doesn't make it true. You can't "probably" have a major role, they either did or they didn't. As for the black terriers being Beddy influenced, what proof is there of that ? I can take my pedigrees back further than my lifetime and there's not one jot of it. I'll accept we're talking historically but at least try and provide some shred of evidence before you taint my Black's or anyone else's with Bedlington rubbish.
  21. I've had all the above and none of them match hanwag Alaska for durability especially the leather. If you're just kicking around and walking and would suit you, if you're on the shovel get the hanwag
  22. You know, you've seen it yourself, his famous saying "you've got to use more than one dog in Shropshire because the earth's are so big " !
