the norm is to pick up a bottle of iodine(antiseptic type liquid) and gently apply to toe 3 days on 3days off for about two weeks ,the toe will swell and allow biood to surrond the break or injury and help it heal dont worry about the toe going bald ,as is part of the process end result will be a good one, done it many times down the years ,do not remove the toe no need this and rest wll do the job (won many races after this treatment no looking back) all the best.

nice one simon

if you like the dog and can see good points in it ease back a little ,dont slip it behind other dogs it will only frustrate it more, try and give it a few easy bites to build up its confidence ,once it realizes it can achieve this and catch its prey the yapping should vase out ,all the best .

gedro8888 replied to blackcatlurcher's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
almost 30 years around greyhounds seen it many times ,no.1 antibiotics i.e course of penicillin no.2 get your dog to the beach walk it in the salt water plenty both wll work if you can do both all the better. -
doesnt sound like much to worry about, kennel cough you wont mistake it very harsh and persistant no need for vet just have to let it run its course couple of weeks noramlly, word of warning though if you ever do have it dont run your dogs seen a good dog ruined before (scaring of the lungs)
