never saw agenuine deerhound whippet , be a [bANNED TEXT] mixure and would be a difficult dog to pick as a pup ,

had grw colie type made 23 24 25 very good dogs on any land caut all sorts theyre were bred of bwra biggish whipps top class dogs catch rabbs for fun , still got them same stamp very good dogs if bred of top workers

each countie has diffrent issues on control and whats a pest , ive been lucky to hunt at wil and travel alot the hunting and fishing industry is up and down the quicker they lift bans give people hunting licences like fish licences and have close seasons the better ,for all round nature ,in some areas hare are more plentiful roe to than pest species , hook beaks sharp tooths well there always goin need some measure of control , to keep a happy balance same with rats crows etc , rabbits are up and down in this country at moment,and need checked on , all season on some areas ,if you live with th

i would say dogs killing varmits is no big deal wether fox or whatever as that is what they were bred for to kill varmits, wether up in the higlands of scotland todd killing dogs are handy as foxes kill lambs so do badgers , so a handy dog will help the todd hunter to kill the varmit , as its his job , part of countryside matters having dogs to help deal with pests , guns are handy snares to but its handy having agood strong dog like acoyote hound or deerhond type to kill varmits pests etc ,ive saw fox packs pre ban acoount for 10 foxes in a day saved the farmer a good few lambs -
like any mass producer there a place for them but not in my kennel cant beat home bred tried and tested stuff streaks ahead of puppy peddlars without a doubt

not got a favorite or a bad type but they have to fill a pot and then some more dont like small dogs or dogs one dimensional basicaly a fan of an allround hunting coursing dog, i believe a running dog has to run its qaurry ,fair and square , bad feet lack of wind fetching ability , hard mouthed on game, -
a good day windy cold but saw some not bad running dogs saw afew i bred last year shaping up well for the job in hand , good food crack , and well it was a wild day, great locaition hounds hollering in back ground grand big feilds for a course etc in foregrond good food a few nice dogs , proper hare land surrounding it , good day apart from wind and cold

having had the pleasure to see a few good lurchers bred a few , working lurchers are still about but a show for , a diffrent type of person , same with racing , the qaulities i look for in a hunting coursing dog , a show or a straight race has nothing to offer, its abit of fun for most but some take it serous but neither are real lurchers ,when i skip over a fence dogs over hees scanning the feilds sees the game chase is on , hees useing his head useng the angles , qaurries under pressure he is caut or gone , lamp or daytime ,if youve hunted since small and its in your blood a show is a day

saw dogs out of jack killing hares single handed , some not the paciest but they throw clever pups in the [bANNED TEXT] hands , wouldnt knock what ive saw out of them put to good bitches

listin to blackwater keep the whipps for the show bench and get a purpose bred running dog for the job lol everybodys got a learn some take longer ,i always ask my self before i buy breed a pup whats the parents grand parents done before i put time into a dog etc usaly thats the start of a good working dog,

saw steve bartons dogs work ,been with the lad from filey saw his dogs and a lad not here now ,who had alsaition crosses from ediburgh area al worked ,none pacey but had good attributes put back to a dog like rex my own ,buddy etc through time ,and even better dog will be had ,saw bartons dogs several times got pics of them and competed against them , and saw my mates from edinburgh catch foxes cats feral early ninties , the lad from fileys were a nice type to but needed a bit more running dog in them but not greyhound ,good qaulity runing coursing dog pacy ones as there enough bone in a alsa

there should be plenty pics as well there books on it and they bred the deerhound for it deercoursing , and when yo go into the high country you see plenty reds so there not rare , there more deer than bunnies hares in some areas , a good stout dog and a wise man can feed a family and freinds in past tense when it was legal , only amatuers need to take pics and put them on a comp as realy its no big deal ,,the big deal is well getting home safely butchering etc ,but there deer dogs and there real deer dogs who are as good as a gun on some species , -

wacthed the vid , about whipps being the best i think of lurchers now and present and a whipp wouldnt hold a candle to them , katie kizzy luke maggie lana minni bob and they all bred true so no mongrels were top class rabbiting dogs and some allround dogs , video was a joke saying whipps best etc we wo8ldnt have purpose bred lurchers if whipps were the bees knees -
how many guys have saw alsaition crosses genuine ones work i have and they were the best of the litter pity help the ones who are just near pure alsaition no pace and more wastage going on ,one thing you need to ask what does the alsaition do and is the greyhound any better at times , it can be a handy dog but what about the poor burer who gets the alsaition type as all lurchers actualy have to have pace to get there unless the games fenced in etc ,hope it works out but many have treid

neve saw a whippet win a hunting rabbiting trail when the nlrc had them was mostly grew collie type , and this was a rabbit contest , and never new many full time rabbiters owning whipps in the eighties ninties , there no were as good as a purpose bred lurcher thats for sure -
worked all my life shuttering concrete , jionery , way up in the hydro dams , tunnel work , building work site manager fishing , done alot of courses to get better pay , you have to work hard to play hard and to get the good things in life ,

to get a good dog you need to no dogs and breeding only way there no shortcuts just trail and error at times , but if youre clever about it , you can come good ,it takes years of expierence in the feild mistakes and sucsess , some never go forward others strive to go forward
