  1. Yep, definitely looks like a tether or suchlike.
  2. Excellent replies, thank you gentlemen. I think I will give it a try. Just got to see what sort of money people want for a starter kit.
  3. Morning all. I've always been mildly interested in home loading but shy away each time because of worry of killing myself :-) So instead I've always bought the best factory ammo possible. However after watching many on line tutorials I think it may be within my capabilities. So, how does it work legally? Am I only allowed to possess the number of bullet heads that I'm allowed to keep on my fac, or is it that you can hold unlimited components, but not exceed your allotted allowance of complete rounds? Will I actually produce better rounds than the premium ready rol
  4. Got back from work today and treated myself to a few more rounds at the target. Three shots in and a magpie startled by the last round lands in a bush not thirty yards from the target....... It won't be doing that again!
  5. Thanks for the input everyone. Picked it up today. Unfortunately they didn't have any 53grn hornandy so I picked up some 40,s and some 50grn Norma. The hornandy were doing clover leaf groups at 100 yds easily. So far happy with my choice.

  7. To be fair I was quite new to the firearms scene back then. Possibly the barrel was shot out, ammo fussy? However before I sold it on it did account for a few foxes, admittedly at only around fifty yards at which the rifle would produce an inch to an inch and a half group.
  8. How do you find the wmr? I had one for a short time, but seriously couldn't get to grips with it accuracy wise. Bought a Brno lr and never looked back.
  9. I seriously enjoy your posts, please keep them coming.
  10. You lot are just spoilt! :-) Joking aside, that's some seriously nice hides.
  11. Most excellent, I have two lurchers here, one would have climbed the tree, the older one would have waited for the squirrel and the dog to fall out of the tree and nabbed the prize.
  12. Evening folks. Looking for thoughts on the above as a choice for fox work? I never shoot beyond 150yds , anyone who owns one of these able to suggest suitable fodder too please? Thanks, Jamie.
  13. What a fantastic write up both of you!
  14. Cool, three years it will be fine. I think the trail X whatsit will fulfill my needs. Just get a few prices now. Thanks for all the input.
  15. Well they sound like the sort of kit I need. Is there any idea on life expectancy of these units?
  16. I have found with monochrome scopes, ie, pulsar n550 or photon foe example I suffer eye burn out far quicker than when using say my starlight with its green light. I never shoot further than 100 yds, so range not a problem, I like the sound of being able to set it up for three different rifles. I still do a lot of rat and rabbit work, but I am also taking the business back to its routes, so will be taking on fox work again.
  17. What are they? There has to be some! I have been content with good quality NV for my work for a good few years now, but unfortunately I am now experiencing problems with it. So, I'm about to start a very important New rabbit control contract, I've decided that thermal is the new way forward. But! Before I shell out a decent wedge on something I know little about I thought it prudent to ask the above question. So gentlemen with true life experience of using thermal, what are the downsides please?
  18. I'm in the market right now, if it's Ian b then I know who I will be buying from.
  19. Stop it, your killing me! :-) I'm blinking starving now.
