Get yourself a treadmill and a seasons supply of biscuit?

The whippet/grey was a very underestimated lurcher, put to a Deerhoundy type id expect them to be a useful sort.

I may not have nailed my flag to the post in the right manner,im more interested in the Rillington line than any other, because George tried harder than the rest, until i came along, tongue in cheek,he did not have to suffer the fools that the tinternet makes experts of that i suffer with. The original outcross i went to were bred from some of the last mutts rescued from georges kennel, bred to my bitch that was heavily rillington influenced. The facts are the outcross did not wok in the first instance for me,as happens at times with any outcross.I bred the first Male pup out of this outcross back t

The original bitch i bred from, had the usual names that entered most pedigrees 20 years ago,a touch of gutchcommon,a tad more granitor and the majority Rillington, plus the odd border and Lakey name in the ancestry.Somebody better knowledged with pedigrees pointed out a couple of names on the paper that could not possibly have been bred from at the time, such is the minefield of pedigree papers and the supposed accuracy of them.I outcrossed to a decent Red Fell i owned and everything since as been bred back into the original line. The red Fell im still breeding from now if the tales on here are t

There is gutchcommon, granitor, rillington blood in all Bedlingtons, thats a fact, another fact is that these so called bloodlines are way,way past their best and id rather breed away from all of them now,the Rillington kennel tried harder than most to save the Bedlington as a grafter and lasted the course with more honesty that the rest, the Rillington line is so diluted with the rest that its viability now is questionable. If it comes across that i slate a certain line id be more correct to slate the majority of these lines as they are worse than useless, the small pockets of resistance are not eno

My name is C.Greenham and i live in Morton, take it from there einstein.Again ive not bred a litter for a few years, that was to make up for a retirement and a loss,i bred 4 pups, kept 2,gifted 1 and sold one for £140 as it was easier to find a good pet home than a poor working one,if that makes me a peddlar ill stand guilty as charged.Ive had 3 and 4 adult terriers on heat here in the last 4 or 5 years, ive not bred from 1 of them because i refuse to add to the bitches in circulation that are kept as cash cows, ive been offered decent money to line bitches and the folk willing to pay me for the fu

Its a total waste of time to outcross a Bedlington and expect to breed bedlingtons. The purpose is to outcross to generate a gene pool of terriers,in different kennels, that can be sourced and dipped into to further your own attempts to own a working terrier that better resembles the Bedlington,in work ethic and conformation, than any KC bed terrier that will often be more mongrel bred than you would believe. If the outcross is utilised correctly and bred back into your lineage, again in the right manner, then you will produce a uniform litter of working terriers that resemble the Beddy of old,not o

The last litter i bred was a few years ago,ive 2 bitches here that will never be bred from and they are better bitches than the average dross. My lad bred a litter last year to give me a couple of pups,7 in the litter and he gave the rest away as gifts.Ive 2 bitch pups here and i will breed out of 1 of them in about 4 years time,if they warrant it.Ive never owned a gsd so cannot fathom how i bred a litter,i know of about 10 litters of Bedlingtons bred in Keighley in the last few years and i had no input into any of them, nor wanted to be associated with any one of them.Your facts are about as co

Whats outstanding about the pups?.The main thing that will affect how the pups graft is what they are bred from, then the kennel they reside in.As these pups are bred from a non working bred bitch and a gutchcommon dog? then their viability as future workers falls well, well below outstanding. Each to their own as you rightly say and the folk that buy a pet for £350 will be happy enough to do so and the pups will suit them well, thus i take it that you mean outstanding pets?,your pups and your poetic licence, but lets not get to carried away and a tad of realism is needed in cases of Beddy breeding
-
It never stopped, the new salvation of the Becdlington is sold in another kennel every year, how much will you sell yours for?,you failed to answer the last time i asked.
-
Id be horrified if white toes and chests appeared in my mongrels,as in any Bedlington, especially KC there is an element of hidden breeding that never corresponds with the written pedigree.

A good day and night for me never equated to double figures,2 and 3 rabbits was a long days slog, then we ventured into the Dales. What a mistake, you soon lose your love of hunting and chase numbers, chase mutts that are better suited to numbers, neglect your family and lose yourself like a smackhead on crack.I spent 7 years chasing Dales rabbits, what a waste of 7 years for a fecking conie, they are not worth the effort until you again realise that a few hunted right is better than a massive amount hunted for the sake of killing numbers.

Well said.

More dogs carried home in rucksacks that became bunny fazed and the owner not knowing how to slip to the right rabbit. The Dales rabbits made turds out of many a mutt that ventured into their domain, then made reputations out of average mutts that learnt to adapt to the slaughter.

Throw a Beagle over her,you will not be disapointed.

I brought him up to have his own opinion, doh. As an aside he cannot source what he really wants and is not as tunnel visioned as me,the Dog i bred over a Wheaten will suit his hunting lifestyle, not mine,he mentioned it to me and asked for my approval,i told him straight,he don,t need my approval as i respect, highly, his opine on the matter and the reason for that is he earnt it.Don,t entangle yourself in a web of bullshit and vindictiveness darling, you will look out of fashion walking around Leyburn in a skirt and y fronts.
-
Another from the archives P, doppleganger for a couple ive had the fortune to own and exercise.
-
Id not have Wheaten blood in my lurcher, especially as ive become better acquainted with the Wheaten.Rather than lose the vinegar in his lurcher,my son,he will cover HIS wheaten with HIS dog, that i bred.If that makes me accountable for what you think you know, but know feck all about, then crack on.Your suited to this site mush.
-
The point of sites like this N is to read posts that you have some affinity with and recognise the fact that, that mush knows his onions, then muller the nuggets that wish to be acknowledged as the new salvation of the modern lurcher,i read your posts and acknowledge the same affinity i have to my memories in the field, others i have nothing but contempt for and often have an ignorant habit of stating such.

The folk i keep company with i respect because of the mutts in their kennels, thats as foolish as ill ever be,do you know how the dogs became respectable?,over many generations, seasons and days aiding and assisting each other. The folk i keep company with earnt their stripes at the coal face,im all for aiding and assisting others, many of my closest hunting companions tagged along and learnt a thing or two off moi, further down the years i learnt a thing or two from them and they took my lad under their tutorship many years later, why the feck would i wish to keep the company of somebody that alrea

I walk out with folk,i just don,t walk out with anybody.

Thats what bushing is about, well done,it won,t be on its own though.

Before the advent of the tinternet the majority of folk hunted a lurcher to further only their own ambition, the nuggets were easily found out and it soon got around on the grapevine the mush to ignore. The tinternet is the salvation of ego,s,feckwits and chancers and the majority on sites like this don,t have a fecking clue and aspire to be a tinternet legend, many rise to their ambition because of the nuggets that feed their ego.Back in the day the road to Hawes and beyond was a path some serious folk tramped to further their hunting ambition and nobody ever knew, apart from a few like minded so

Totally agree,a mutt that as the opportunity to catch a vast amount of bunnys amidst a vast amount of bunny,s is a second rate mutt to a mutt that catches less but better,i know you will understand what im getting at.I kept company with some fecking dross jukels that mullered vast amounts of rabbits in the dales, early 80,s,lurchers that i would not feed accounted for a thousand plus rabbits in a season,in an area that these mutts would have had to use their nose, run harder, twist and turn better etc.etc. they would have been found out and thats a fact.As my griping example of a mutt and owner i

Walk the 3 peaks and take a busher with you,you may be surprised what you knock up,plenty of rabbits and the odd big ear, plus the reed beds are productive if you like to witness reynard in flight, roe are a nuiscance if you wander further from the beaten track.
