    Exercise for the mutts,free scran and a bit of sun,good to see others finding ways to keep the mutts ticking over without having to put up pics of milky does.

    We expect the mutts to hunt,chase and kill,these traits are in the majority of working lurchers and can manifest themselves at any given moment.The best trained and complacent of mutts are capable of the odd fit of aggressive behaviour.When a dog shows these traits on a more than regular occurence,then id finish it as its a liability in waiting,a dog that raises its teeth to the owner and cannot be corrected,is a cull.

    Its possible to lamp with any type of mutt,how much your happy to see being exercised by a dog that will seldom make contact is another matter.

    As do i,get them out and about,let them look,smell and learn,educate and train them early and reap the rewards later on,the later on bit is the most important,running a pup at 7 months,especially on something that may take it on a long gallop,is more than careless and a sure sign of disaster in the making.Im all for early education as long as its strictly controlled until the mutt is ready and capable to take advantage of what its learnt and its mind and body are capable.

    Ive attended a couple of EDL rallys,i won,t go to another,badly organised and run with a minority of the followers that bring the credibility levels down.If they organised better,took charge and controlled the numptys in their ranks,they would receive a better audience and following.As an ex squaddie im,in principle,an advocate of what they are saying and trying to get across,from somebody that lives in Bradford im all for most of what they have to say,as a father with daughters and living in this area,im fully behind some of their mandate.Until they re-organise and control the minority in the

    With the cowardly fecks hiding in every gutter now i can understand why they would ask the Lasses to be more careful and better protect themselves from the dross that crawls from the gutters.Its a sad reflection of our society that they even need to ask for such drastic actions.Until the politicians and the leading lights in the policeforce grow some and take necessary steps to clear the gutters,then such requests will become the norm,don,t expect much change from the Politicians or the Police,they,ve lost the plot now and are more interested in pacifying the muslim gutter snipes than bringing

    I can,t train a dog to lie down,never mind its lug.I asked a top Collie breeder and show judge and he said the best way was to get a 3" nail and nail them to its head for a few weeks,then bury whats left.

    I train all mine in the company of others,usually elders,in all honesty i find it aids education and seldom hinders it.Its how you channel the energy and training,company often aids training as the youngster as something to watch and follow.At times a few one on one training sessions are desirable.

    Its a sign of age when you have to sit on a computer drinking skid on a bank holiday weekend,when others are in the boozers wasting brass and enjoying themselves. even worse when your kids have been and still are on the piss and all you've got is a fridge full of carling and the box set of band of brothers the joys of old age Carling and a band of brothers,is that some sort of gay black inebriation?.

    I save the summer for fishing,balmy days with the sun on your back,a few tinnies and the expectation of a bending rod,its just a shame the sun forgets to come out in summer now.

    Hows the dog bred,ive owned Collie bred lurchers that soon got bored or fathomed out what a waste of energy it was to chase somethind and be expected to retrieve it,i made an habit of using different things for it to scurry after,from tennis balls to an assortment of cuddly toys,plastic and fabric,from car boots.Some dogs soon believe its a wasted exercise and never take to retrieving what you throw,the same dogs will retrieve game at the first opportunity,some just won,t and make for a fitter owner.

    Modern art,some of the students leaving college sell stuff for beer tokens,as soon as they are recognised the price goes mental,look at the smack ed Tracey E.she sold stuff for smack thats now worth tens of thousands.!960,s and seventies designer retro,very few had names on and are much sought after,one looks very much like a later copy,with a bit of homework and education theres brass to be found there.

    What i find with Deerhoundy lurchers,especially dogs that get over the 27" mark is at 12 months they are big pups and have not yet grown into their bulk and physique,at 12 months its a long way off becoming the finished article,a pup that some would put in an hole at that age with another season on its back will make for a more than useful mutt,fact.They are a type of lurcher that best suits a more experienced and patient of owner,or a youngster with more nous than some of the so called experienced lads about.

    The drinks cabinet/sideboard id chuck,the Art Deco style display unit,as long as there is no peeling and missing laminate will make £120-£180 in a Southern saleroom,£50-£70 in the north,get it on Ebay it will make its brass.
