  1. You cannot fit a moderator onto a TX200 rifle Robbie. The TX200HC carbine is threaded for a screw-fit adaptor or moderator but, frankly, neither rifle needs one and the HC can be over-balanced forward with one. There is no real benefit and anyway, the rifle has a shrouded bull barrel which is baffled and sound absorbing. The .177 calibre TX200 series rifles are fantastic and you'll love what it will do downrange. All the best. Pianoman
  2. Hello there ecp2021... Sorry I've not added my two-pennorth on this one, I've been away on business for the weekend. RIGHT THEN...Some good answers from good lads here. First off from me, STOP SHOOTING YOUR RIFLE. There's likely damage being done here internally and your gunsmith has been telling you crap! You'll "be charged if nothing wrong is found!"?????, So we can expect a bill when he tells you your rifle's fine and nothing's wrong then?! Like he will! As Tony says, you've only had it serviced, not tuned. It will go on dieselling for longer than 200 pellets, but the level this Di
  3. Hi John. That HW80 looks really great (Handsome lad, our Miles!) I knew Andy would return this HW80 back with a winning performance. He tuned my HW77 to perfection and services all my precious spring rifles and I would trust them to his skills and care anyday. Chris/Thursodog has done a remarkable transformation job with his HW80 too. Great to read you are so delighted with what Andy has done for your rifle John! I love the HW80 and HW77. Either of em' would give anyone genuine pleasure to own and hunt with. Brilliant read lads. Well done. Simon
  4. Brilliant. Roger you're a true friend to this marvelous forum of people for what you freely and literally, bring to its table . Everyone looks well and having a great time. Makes me feel all the more sad I missed it all and everyone's company. You might think I'm taking the piss when I say I was looking out at the grey/sunny/grey again sky from the warmth of RAF Coningsby's Officers mess and enjoying a wonderful lunch reception with the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight people and being envious you lot, happy as pigs in shit and shooting all weekend. Well I'm not! I was more than a bit wistfu
  5. Cheers Si, have a new one on me. I hope... I'd really love to believe ...these girls are for real and model for you Archie! That would be the coolest thing of all! I think it's brilliant. Love em!
  6. Have you got one John? It's a beautiful rifle. I love the stutzen. But then, Diana put a lot of work into the appearance of their rifles. They are real top quality guns throughout. I really fancy the 54 Airking too. Regards. Simon
  7. Good for you Archie. Well shot mate. Your Avatars Rock! Best wishes. Simon
  8. Hi Pete. I agree with the remarks Rob and Andy has tended here. And a bit based on my personal experience. I have a simple rule when choosing an air rifle for hunting. PRECISION ACCURACY IN AIR RIFLE HUNTING IS ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. POWER IS ONLY A SECONDARY CONSIDERATION. The TX200 and TX200HC (and I imagine, the Prosport too.) are not at their best in the higher power catagory in .22 calibre. I cannot speak directly for the Prosport as I'm a left-handed shooter. But, having a very similar action and appearance to the TX200, I can well imagine it has a shortcoming as the TX doe
  9. Thanks Triker. And welcome to the section here. regards. Pianoman
  10. I have a great mate and shooting pal here who uses an HW90 GasRam rifle in .20 and it's very effective as an all round pest control calibre. Well worth your time spent pursuing further. The range of .20 ammunition is improving all the time with the major quality pellet makers adding it to their ranges more and more, so, whichever rifle action you prefer (PCP or Spring/gasram.) you should be well served for ammo! All the best. Pianoman
  11. Just had a look at wording of your agreement Tony. "You must not keep (blah-bloody-blah) or any other offensive weapon that cannot be legally carried in public at the property" Cannot be legally carried in public at the property...? 1. Your council house/flat is not a public place. It's your home and privacy of it is yours. 2. You can carry any sporting firearm in a public place in a sealed/secure gunslip. 3. You do not require a license for your guns therefore you cannot possibly produce one for their "inspection". (Pathetic!) 4. The police are satisfied your air rifle
  12. Hawke Airmax 6-18x44 with SR12 reticle. Mounted on a Weihrauch HW77 .22. That's a devastating anti-pest weapon system at any range!! Pianoman.
  13. This is another turn of how this country has become a nation of snoopers and bloody do-gooders screwing life up for ordinary folks who just want to quietly get on without being a nuisance to anyone. You are not breaking the Law Tony. You have the legal right to own your guns. Pity council pen-pushers and spineless wankers who work for them cannot be so equally vigilant and pro-active against Muslim extremists living on housing and council tax benefits among their tenants. Never see one of these f*****g ragheads down the dole office being asked what they've done about looking for work!
  14. Er...Say again, Mike? Looks like you got your responses mixed up a little here fella!
  15. About sometime around 1998 to 2000 Barny. The answers given are very good and correct. The rifle was developed in appearance rather quickly. The TX200HC made it's debut around this time period too I think. The Mk.I was actually a very sweet-shooting rifle with a nicely designed and very attractive stock for the time of its introduction. It was stepped and tapered from about four inches forward of the trigger, the usual point of balance. It set it apart from the HW97K, with which, the action looked very alike. It was lovely to shoot with but, it didn't quite match the HW77 it was set ou
  16. Cheers Andy, I was wondering about a bait for mink, possibly such as fish paste. I'd like to try that cheap stinky cat food one of yours. Any idea on which brand?
  17. Hi Chris I must say, that's very kind of you mate, thank you! Sounds as though you have an HW80 that is exactly alike to mine by the way you describe loading the Superfields and having one or two slip out the breech. And getting the odd flyer nowadays from H&N FTT. They are a snug 5.53mm head pellet and I've produced some memorable shots from this rifle in the long past using them religiously. H&N FTT are also the number one for my sub-12 HW77. But the RWS Superdomes in the HW80 are 5.52 and thus give such a slack-feeling fit. And I had one fall out the other day while out on
  18. I once had a partner who, only once, really gave me the ultimate ultimatum. "It's your rifles or me!" She wasn't so cock-sure when I said I'd help her pack! I will give my Helen anything she desires. But our relationship is not a contract where my shooting is a bargaining chip for permission to go out to the permission! My shooting was there long before her arrival and there it remains forever unto death. Burt she knows what a massively important area of my life this is and would never put a barrier in the way of it without a good reason, that I would see as reasonable anyway! Pia
  19. For a moment there, it looks like you shoot it off a Paloni sausage and vine leaf wrap! As long as it's soft enough though, it will work!
  20. Si, Wurz that is so kind of you to speak of my own shooting in the light of your victories. This is your hour gentlemen along with Davy too; and you must know for certain, that your shooting is the finest among the best and I'm not going to say anything that takes anything of that truth from you both. I'm so proud of you all as my dear friends doing bloody marvelous shooting. Your banter showed the rest of the pack the level of friendship and marksmanship there is here. I wouldn't expect anything less than this from you lads. Next year however....Okay then! I'm going to work on my crosswi
  21. Aaah...I was wondering how you were all getting on.... WOW!! BLOODY WELL-SHOT ALL OF YOU!! Uphill shots, tricky blind spots and a hefty wind element. Not easy to shoot accurately over a course like this. Si I wouldn't have expected anything less of you and the first place winner will not have had his victory lightly! Brilliant shooting Si AND..... Credit where due here mate; Tony Wall does an undoubted fine tuning job, Wonderful, I might add. BUT, it's your superb shooting with it and putting it all together at the target is what brought home the trophy! But, I'm specially pro
  22. Thanks for posting this John That beech version looks very well indeed. A real practical yet really stylish looking rifle. My HW77 is almost exactly like yours John but the cheekpiece is completely removed. It looks as beautiful in the grain as yours and handles just as superbly without it, like a classic riflestock. I've had it about three years now and I love this rifle to the point of obsession. I would love to try the new stock on a .177 HW77 full sized rifle or HW77K as a dedicated target competition rifle. Next year I'm hoping to seriously going all out to compete in the UK Spri
  23. NO BREAKFAST???!!! Now that just makes me feel worse for missing this meet, due to my work...which will involve a scrumptious breakfast in RAF Coningsby's Officer's mess followed by a Champaign luncheon and afternoon reception. You won't believe me if I said I'd rather be togged up and shooting in the competitions would you....No I didn't think so! But, I'll suffer on your behalf my hearties! Pianoman
