Hell of a rig you have DHLM. Looks in very good condition...Why are you selling it?
-
Cheers Farmer! As you can easily guess, I'm absolutely over the moon with this HW77 rifle. I'm happily running it from the box for now, but I'm itching to get it down to Tony Wall at Sandwell Field Sports for a tune up. seriously thinking of getting another in .177 for HFT spring rifle class competition shooting. To a shooter like me, it's absolutely perfect in every aspect. If anybody is looking for a second hand spring rifle on a budget, I cannot see how they could want for more with the bargain a decent condition HW77 would make. ATB Simon

Que? There's no ladies where I'm taking you next weekend laddie. Thought we'd go up the field and the forrest where I was with my HW77 and we'll have a good target session. A lot of my permission is currently ploughed up Andy so, be prepared to get a bit of mud on your boots mate. Simon

What make and type of spring rifle storer; break barrel? I reckon not much; an inch or so. It's not just about cutting to shorten the barrel and that's it. You have to take into account that a break-barrel has to act as a lever to cock the rifle and the shorter you go the harder the cocking effort becomes. You have to pay particular attention to the re-crowning of the barrel after cutting. Get it wrong and your barrel is scrap. Personally, I'd rather buy a dedicated, shorter carbine like a TX200HC. Great stuff Steve. You should have a great summer's late evening/dawn shooting here mate, no problems! ATB Simon

I used to listen to the voices Andy but, I had to stop...............Before I did their bidding

You are absolutely right JD I really believe the HW77 is truly the daddy of em all. When Weihrauch wanted to introduce a new underlever into their range, they just took the HW77 metalwork and internals and redefined them with a shortened barrel, redesigned the underlever latch-up with a silencer and gave it a new stock and called it the HW97. It's still the HW77 in another suit. Simon

Okay here's another little secret.....when I make a particularly great shot.....I kiss my rifle and scope! ALL RIGHT I ADMIT IT!! I'M SADLY, HOPELESSLY IN LOVE WITH MY MOST FAITHFUL COMPANIONS....HAPPY NOW?? GOOD!!! Still...I'll really worry when my rifle answers me back!

Bill you're welcome mate. I just hope you are alright fella ATB Simon

Now now Ste what you do in private...

Blimey Andy Why the hell would anyone want to sell a rifle like this? It looks as though it's been hardly touched. Simon

It's good to hear praise where it's due Danny That's just the measure of our Davy, Top man!
-
Thanks indeed Bill. I must confess.. I do talk to my rifle when I'm pulling off great shots with it or, when I miss, it's like "Aww come on, we are so much bloody better than this!" Cheers mate Simon

I must say I'm liking the principle of this idea a lot. The times we are moving into are financially tougher than ever and that always brings out the scum. Especially on the internet. If people have had a good old honest, great deal with a top lad like Andy rossy08 recently where he sold his HW35 to a very satisfid and well pleased chap recently, then yes! Let's hear about it. But then we come to what Si picked up on when someone uses it to discredit someone unfairly. A Directory of Good and Ethical Trading is as open to abuses as the next. It's far harder to argue and discredit against

Really Mushroom! Seriously now Alcamy, if I was looking for a spring rifle for your intended sport, it has to be a Weihrauch HW77 .22. The very best air rifle money can buy off the peg! Simon

Si that's so kind of you to write a considered response this way. Oh yeah you bet mate, it's going to Tony Wall at Sandwell Field Sports for the magic he weaves into these guns. It's getting the spare £70 for it without my good lady saying we need it for our boy's school kit/trips/shoes latest must-have phone to replace the one that was the top spec 5 minutes ago etc. Hey ho! But it will get done. It's going to be an interesting excersise seeing how he can improve what is an amazing rifle straight out of the box. Ther's no silencer fitted Si, this rifle is all as it comes as standard from H

Ron cheers mate. Must admit I found monkey's post a bit confusing as to what 15 quid for peace of mind is for, or, getting "droped by a load of dogs" actually is Thanks Andy mate. Looking forward to reading what you get up to with your new baby Cheers Simon

Hi Bill. Scope sale aside, are you finding problems focusing your eye comfortably? What about using a less-cluttered reticle like good old 30-30 duplex or European/German 4A? Hope you are alright in your sight mate. Simon

Gentlemen thank you all reading this. If this rifle doesn't convince the most sceptical, that a spring rifle is every bit as accurate as a PCP then nothing but, absolutely nothing can. Andy, hi! You up for some shooting over here this weekend? PM or call me mate and you're on. Bring your woolly undies, it gets bloody chilly towards tea time! The thing with my TX200 is, it's bloody amazingly accurate when I zero it up for hunting or targets but, when I've been out to hunt with it I've had rabbits in the scope at ranges that should be no problem at all. Hold is good, gentle through the tri

Well, mid-day today was brilliant, clear frosty sunshine and so, went over to my permission with the HW77 .22 scoped up with a trusty Bushnell Banner 6-18X50 and a plentyful supply of H&N Field and Target Trophy to get some running-in target shooting done. The usual level of dieselling of this new rifle has subsided now and the rifle is running-in beautifully. A long range session produced a very tight penny sized group at 40 metres -pretty good for recoiling spring .22. I re-set to my hunting zero of 25 metres and, to make it more interesting, I set up a load of fallen Crab apples spiked

Hi storer and welcome to the section mate. Nope sorry pal. Check with Theoben, but just a few can be converted. They have often published a list of spring rifles that their available gas ram will convert to. If yours is not on it, it's likely to be a no-go. I had a Webley Excel .22 some years ago and got a Thoeben Gas Ram fitted for it. It was really a sweet little rifle that shot superbly with it. Hope it works out for you. Simon

That's just made me bloody howl! Nice one Bill. Got to confess I'm becoming more inclined to look at the rain pouring outside and think.."Hmmm they'll still be there tomorrow!" So I have become a softie as I'm getting older. I've had some seriously great sport in absolutely pissing down rain. They seem to be out feeding in rain mostly around 1800 hrs/6pm on my permissions. I don't know why. Of course I've tried to predict for this and been patiently waiting in the rain from quietly setting up in the afternoon...and waiting.....and nothing! The rabbit's instincts to feed, breed a

Now don't be so hard on a good lass Steve. When you get your gear washed and it smells Jasmin fresh or whatever, hang it outside and leave it overnight, let it get rained on and thoroughly soaked through if the weather turns that way. Get the smell of the earth and weather from your garden on it. Simon

Nice of you to say Danny. Thanks mate. There's some smashing fellas here that really know their stuff. Simon
