Must be a correct answer here somewhere dig deep. You use the plural of scope, implying this problem is not confined to just one scope but, all scopes you have. Either you have an alignment problem with your rifle's barrel, or, if it's just a few clicks, it's the normal effect of temperature changes. Never heard of an entire collection of scopes going faulty! Simon

Great choice Goaler. As Andy says, they are indeed lovely quality kit. I am a huge fan of these Simmons Whitetail Classic scopes; I have two of the now-discontinued 4-14x40 AO for my Weihrauch spring rifles and they just hold perfect zero no matter how many shots fired during the sessions. Let's hear how you find your new 3.5-10x50 in the field. Simon

Hi Water Badger. If l was going for a pcp, I'd go for .177 to make use of the accuracy potential for HFT if that was something I wanted to get involved in. Either .22 or .177 is perfect as a general hunting calibre at the kill-zone of our quarry. Barrel length is not a performance issue for reasonable hunting ranges. ATB Simon

Hi dig deep. How far out do you need to re-zero dig deep; a few clicks? When you've been out on a cold day's shooting, you'll bring your rifle into a warm home and the stark change in temperature will cause cold, contracted metals in the scope to expand and thus, the resulting movement causes zero shift. Even my most expensive Simmons and Bushnell scopes need a click or two between sessions. If you are losing zero during your shooting foray, you have a genuine problem. Otherwise, this is a fairly common thing with airgun scopes. As long as your scope holds its zero precisely for the

Trial and error I'm afraid dai mate. These differences are head sizes. You have to find out which headsize of pellet suits your barrel best of all. Welcome to the section mate ATB Simon

Hi Andy. Have a ride up to west Yorkshire mate, we've got a right howling wind on right now. All the best for your foray mate Simon

Hi Micky. Welcome to the section here. You'll get more from your S200 if you zero your scope at 30 yards range for .177. And yes, you must use the pellets you intend to hunt with. 1. Mount the scope, fire 3 shots at a target center bullseye, set to that measured distance. Note where the shots are grouping. They will be high or low and left or right of center. 2. Remove scope turret caps and adjust accordingly by turning them a few clicks a-time, with another shot or two to check where you are hitting. For example, if you see your shots hit lower on the left side of center, you adjust

Adjusting a new scope
pianoman replied to Alan Clark's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Al. I use some fully adjustable mounts, a bit on the expensive side but worth their salt. This will enable you to centre your scope, i.e. wind the turrets ( Gently ) all the way around,( Dont force them at the end ) then count every click all the way back. If you have say 300 clicks, turn the turret back 150 clicks to centre. Do this with Elevation and deflection, your scope should now be fairly well centered. Bring the rifle into zero with the adjustable mount, and fine tune using the turrets. If you can, it pays to buy decent mounts. Job done mate. Bill. Perfect ad -

Hi Si Great to hear you've had a bit of luck and a great deal on the Weihrauch HW100 mate. Only pcp worth having, but, you know what I'm like for Weihrauchs! Laura should be able to show you.. SORRY... shoot with it too! Terrific bags of bunnies you're getting for this time of year. Looks like you're getting all mine at your shoots Si. Not so much as a sight of a white tail scutt or a squirrel anywhere here. Looking forward to reading more from you with the new '100 pal. Simon -

Hear hear Si; me too. It's blasting hear and wet too Steve, so, lets hear where abouts on your permissions you get the best sport, in relation to ground, sheltered spots, lee of rising ground etc. Have good night lads Simon -
Quite right too young Darren. Spring rifles of the quality of Weihrauch and Air Arms are beautifully made, self contained, precision shooting engines with an inexhaustible power supply, that require true shooting skill and craft to coax the very best out of them. Every great shot is a hand-crafted work of art  PCPs are the most expensive Devil's devices that lifelessly and soul-lessly bring accuracy to those who either have none or, are too bloody lazy to learn properly. And when they aren't breaking-down and failing with leaks and lost-pressure and a bloody hissy fit with a

True British made Hunting Air Rifles

I must agree with Bill, the Fast Fire is not remotely attractive to my eye; in fact, I would bin it from the range and focus on making and developing the Pheonix and a newer design using the same system format and boosting sales. But then, I personally dislike all TDRs and most pcps' anyway. God knows why we can make a nice looking job of a rifle, but there has to be barriers and obstacles with distributors to getting it into more outlets and boosting sales. -
What pellet best suits the Webley Raider 10
pianoman replied to Gunner11's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Once upon a time I would have recommended ELEY WASPS for a Webley barrel but, they are now Johnny Foreigner-made shizzle. Can recommend you don't use Superpoints; they are not anywhere so accurate as a good dome headed Diabolo pellet. Try RWS SUPERFIELDS, BISLEY LONG RANGE GOLD, AIR ARMS FIELD, CROSSMAN ACCUPELL. I've heard all these have performed well from Webley barrels Simon -

pianoman replied to hunter1989's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Hiya Steve. That looks alright mate Did you have any problems with the spray can aerosols causing ionising vapour spray covering your walls and surfaces? I once did a spray-can cammo job on a scope in my kitchen and every bloody wall, worktop and door in the place was somehow plastered in sticky green/grey/brown spray. Simon -
hello mate. would your gun be older than about 3 years by any chance, my mates is a new one 2010. thus alot more anti tamper. and you need the tool to remove the block, not slating daystates there very good guns, but his air ranger will not do any thing my s400 wont. build quility, the same performance ie grouping,,the same cost, daystate nearly £500 more..why ffor the best part of a grand,i personaly dont want a gun that has the common faults like the mag not indexing and dropping pell's into the breach, due to the mags beeing crap it not accurate as should be because the pell'

True British made Hunting Air Rifles
pianoman replied to clubshot's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Very nice rifle . I understood there were problems encountered with the original Parker Hale Pheonix and a lot of shooters were put off -including myself. Certainly I didn't see many in the gun shops and even fewer these days. The new manufacturers seem to have made an improved and better version of what does look an attractive pcp. You got one of these Bob? Like to hear more about it if you have?! ATB Simon -
HI Davy. I'd say you are pretty warm, if not absolutely spot on. This really does look like a BSA CADET MAJOR from about the late 1950s to about early 1960s or however long they were made, by the state it's in. I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to learn its done shooting gallery time in a fairground stall. Thousands of .177 Beezer Cadet Majors like this were always found at fairgrounds when I was a youngster. Either those or Meteors! Perhaps a call or email to BSA will confirm its true I.D and age? Cheers for letting us have a look mate Simon

Welcome to the section Andy. How many Andies now? Cheers mate Simon.

1 death and 67 serious injuries? Hardly a cause for panic measures is it. How much public money was spent getting this latest bollocks on the statute books? I can well see the common sense of gun security in this but, fining people for having an "unsecured" air rifle in their own homes? Let me ask one question. HOW MANY OF US HERE, HAVE ACTUALLY HAD AN INCIDENT WHERE OUR KIDS HAVE TAKEN OUR GUNS AND COMMITTED SERIOUS CRIMINAL OFFENCES OR SERIOUS INJURY WITH THEM.....ANYONE? I have a cousin who, when I was a young lad, accidentally shot me in the face with his Relum Tornado

Hi Si. Really enjoyed reading this one Shooting is not always perfect ranges, bags of rabbits and ideal weather conditions. I seem to make most of my missed shots at closer ranges in the poor light of fog etc. I must revalue close/medium range shooting within my zero, more than I have of late. Like Bill says, Spring is fast approaching and there'll be some great sport on my permissions this year. At least you still are out getting some sport for now mate, it's as flat as a fart here. And a good scoff too! Cheers pal Simon

Yep I know Steve mate, an absolute bargain that 46'. It was at Guns International's closing down sale and it was snapped up in the end. But I have what is a beautifully finshed example of what must be the most accurate underlever spring rifle of any in the world. My HW77 .22 is frighteningly accurate. ATB Simon

Well done on binning the smokes Ste mate. I gave up a 30 lighters per day habit -or so it seemed, on August 11th 2010. It's easily paid for 2 of my rifles and a scope or a few already in the last 6 months I've been free of tobacco. Just think mate. When you are holding that lovely HW97K and scope in your hands, it's all yours and you are shooting some astonishing groups with it, you'll be thinking like l do with my HW77. "JESUS!! I WAS SETTING FIRE TO ALL THIS FOR NOWT'! Keep going mate. The cravings will die. Simon

Cheers Andy I've just spluttered red wine all over my bloody laptop   I already own a peerlesessly accurate .22 Weihrauch HW77 dream rifle.....BUT... I'd love another 77 with a Mauser inspired Stutzen stock and a LUGER 4-16x40mm scope with 30mm tube and German 4a reticle. That would be a thing of absolute beauty for me. Seems we have similar instincts Steve. The Diana 46 Stutzen is a pure beautiful rifle mate. I had one in my hands, brand new and offered for a knock-down £460 and I deliberated, lost sleep and agonised over it or the HW77. The pop-up breech w
