  1. Earth wears his warniing points like a badge of honour... Surprisingly for me I havent got any..... Yet
  2. Leghorns (good layers, small white eggs) Fenton blue HYBRID (good layers blue/green eggs) Red HYBRID (great layers brown eggs) Depends if you just want eggs in the morning or want to breed down the road... In that case get purebreds Hybrids are a good starting point however for newbies When buying hybrids you are looking for pol (point of lay) try and buy all your birds off one supplier If you see ANY sick birds... Walk away, any birds hunched over, dirty, nasal discharge etc... Walk away, dirty pens... Walk away In a point of lay bird it wants to look fairly well grown, pink o
  3. Ive already got lads poaching 1 of my permissions, the lazy fuckers dont know the others, feck all game left on that one but it is close to a fairly main road so anyone with a gun or dog has easy access. The rest are well hidden.
  4. Always use cheap-ish collars for pups as I will be replacing them with more expensive collars and leads when they finish growing (and stop teething lol)
  5. I already sound like a retard yelling "collie come here girl"
  6. My brain is fried from trying to think of a name... Everything I think up sounds stupid
  7. ok so the collie whippet is now a permanent member of our household Problem is I couldnt think of a name so called her "Collie" Id like a nicer name that kinda rymes with collie (not holly though as I lost a dog of that name in tragic circumstances several years ago)

  9. Hypothetically speaking What would best x be to do everything day and night... Jack of all trades so to speak?
  10. Id be happy if any of my dogs won anything at a show, dont care about prizes But a naggin of whisky would be nice or a fancy collar for me dog, I only go to shows to buy a few bits n pieces for me and my mutts and to have a bit of craic... Then to come on here and read all this pathetic bitching.
  11. I had my farm collie on this for a while, plastic covered cable from concrete stake to telegraph pole, with a runner attathed and a lead hanging down from the runner, works ok but rusts in the end, plus you have to replace the cable lead regular as it when it rustas they can chew through it
  12. Ive just got one couple months back, shes in no way fit yet but on her first run over extremely rough ground she nearly had one caught and of all things 2pheasant hens and a pheasant cock flew up out of the scrub and startled her and she missed her only chance at the rabbit, she hasnt the speed for the larger fields however, she has to be the smallest lurcher ive ever seen as she stands at 17tts I was told she is a half x by the man whom I bought her off. As agility goes she jumps the 4ft garden gate handy enough lol
  13. depends if yoor surpose to be there or if your just looking for your dog A bit of both I do most of my lamping on foot, walking from 1 permission to another over several miles, no harm to shine a lamp about for a look although I havent done any lamping with dogs of my own for a couple of seasons
  14. What is everyones opinion of shining a lamp near houses? I deliberately dont do it, partly because it is incredibly rude and partly to avoid the garda being called.
  15. Tell him it won't make a bit of difference Gem! I shaved my broken coated JRT bitch a few years back, only difference after that was that I got covered in shorter white hairs instead! This is the culpret... Pandora the broken coated russel bitch... Keep threatening hubby that when she dies im getting her stuffed so she can haunt him for all eternity
  16. Ive got used to wearing white hair all over my clothes, my 10yr old russel is the worst dog ive ever known for shedding, good luck finding a solution, my hubby has threatened to shave her many a time
  17. Sure the collie whippet I have here was bred from before I bought her, she was still in milk and he told me shes 18mths (although I think shes younger), shes such a nice little thing I couldnt leave her with that fool and shes only starting to get fit now. Shes showing good signs re; coney and hopefully will be handy to have around this season
  18. does she take sheep I wouldnt dream of letting a dog like that run through livestock.
  19. Ive a dog here for ye.... Dont say its too far as im only in ireland Shes an old bad tempered whippet x, she is a great alrounder... She catches cyclists regular also she is a worker par excellance at catching ponys by the tail and barks enthusiastically at passing vehicles Now, I know your excited by her many talents...
