  2. I had a pup given me from a friend.19 month old ... slightly built and snipey... not really what i like but i was stuck for dogs at the time and she was welcome...she entered... 3 easy digs under her belt .. Then in good company 3 weeks later she hit the net as a big dog fox chased her out of a one holer and wasnt for going back lol we then dug it with a 12 month old pup she went back to the lad who bred her after lying and saying nothing was home a week later...for him to decide her fate ( he is in hunt service ) from the day he has had her back she hasn't missed a beat 2 + hour digs numerous

  6. bull mcabe, on 23 Aug 2013 - 10:42 PM, said: In my humble OPINION i think wat was classed as the old black fell terrier and wat i class as the modern day patterdale are two very different dogs with sometimes very different styles of working. Black dogs may all have the same origins but the smooth bully type dogs you see today have definatly taken a different route somewhere along the way and have seemingly been refined into what most people call patterdale as opposed to the black fell. In my kennel i have nine black and choc patterdales and whatever bull that is in their make up is well back
  7. The new collars can have replacement battery's fitted if buggered... Discharge them if your not using them for long periods
  8. My Lurcher can't keep weight on when fed dr johns silver and makes one of the terriers get bald spots... Sticky mix I use now
  9. I agree with you there... Although I won't keep a hard dog now( my partner does though )... 8 digs to one dog in a day is the most we have done... But most of them were shitty little places.. Knowing your dogs limitations is a must....and I suppose the amount of terriers you keep depends how much work each gets. I should add to keep on the subject that all the terriers we keep are all old nuttal lines ...apart from the old boy who a lad from Shropshire bred...
  10. Personally i think 4 to 6 digs a month .... Depending on type of earths and style of dog...
  11. It makes no odds who can see what....there is a file on every computer called a DAT file ... This file keeps every single thing you have written and every web site you have ever been on...you cannot delete this file.... That is where plod get there info from ...
  12. The best working dog show and cracking day out... See you all there
  13. 4 on the end fella... Sorry about that
  14. Your right corkyjohn... Peddlers will profit more, but they can't buy or sell the passion that lives inside many a good dog man...
  15. I should have worded my post better... shows can benefit the working terrier ( clubs.. Rescue funds) there are messers in every hunting field... And shows are taken far too seriously... But take the messers money too help the genuine dog lads and dogs out...And have a beer and a laugh at the same time ..
