  3. hi scruff, i have an 8month old smooth haired 3/4 beddy whippet and he is the most low maintenance dog iv ever known. hes fantastic in the house, loves nothing more than curling up somewhere warm(sofa, next to fire) and will stay there all day if left. but he is even happier out and about in the car, fields, woods or park. hes a little bugger with my other dog but get on great and sleep in same bed. i have high hopes for him working wise as he caught his first rabbit a couple of weeks ago and narrowly missed a phaesant yesterday.his nose is good and works cover well. il have to agree with oth
  4. lightning xl is light and very nice to handle..but i bet it kicks like a bugger as fac!
  5. i currently have an lightning xl and its a good little rifle,iv also had a hw95 and the hw95 was nicer and easier to shoot with as it feels more smooth. but saying that i love my lightning and very happy with it. personal preference mate
  6. cheers si, theres a few lads from 3rd attached to us chestnut troop i think, havent seen much of them so dont know any names. i see youve been posted away from salisbury? thats a shame as i was hoping to get a few courses in at larkhill after tour and take my air rifle, lol
  7. tell me about it,scum!. my father is heavily involved with a well known motorcycle gang and was there when thousands of bikers turned up there last year incase they turned up! i wish they did that day! im off out there next month and being an fst for 2 para for a few weeks untill 3cdobrigade rock up for the rip.im hoping there gonna wanna leave with a bang!
  8. i am not an educated man neither is my knowledge on current affairs great but from my point of view and the view of many of my peer group(squaddies). our general view is that our grand fathers faught the nazis because they were racists thugs,im extremely proud of how britain and the british people stood up to that fascist way of thinking that if it aint white then thier inferior. how ever i believe that we are being taking the piss out of,its take, take, take but no giving. i like to believe that everyone can get along but reality is they dont want to "get along" and the minority is not a mi
  9. lol yea i guessed that.these wernt 29 either.assuming you was creden hill and not poole (trying to be carefull what i say lol).one retired 2003 as wo2 i believe so you defo crossed paths and one rta on telic same year i believe but may be out a year or too. i played about with Esqn 21 for a little bit before joining regs.wish i stayed with it now!
  10. hi mate and welcome.theres plenty of info on this cross here. as for your questions tho,i had similar situation as you as i have a 2 year old stafford and i was a bit weary of bringing another dog into the home but i needent of worried as they are the best of mates and even sleep in same bed! both males. they work great together as a team and and always putting rabbits out. staffords coat not great for thorns tho as im always pulling them out but it doesnt put him off he just ploughs through anything. i dont have a 1st cross but a 3/4 beddy whipp and although hes young i have high hopes fo
  11. smart dog newkid, and i totally agree that any popular bred lurcher will be more than capable with rabbits.
  12. i had a a good friend of mine who got seriously filled in by some "old friends" from school, all because he joined the forces and they found out.needless to say he aint so arab friendly as he once was!. fortunatly i live in plymouth which has a massive amount of navy, marines and army and there is alot of support from the area which is great. however i know in other more ethnic areas of this country its totally different as i have also been cornered by a group of soldiers for allah (as they called themselves) and i thought that was me!lol. luckily for me,they didnt have my level of fitness so
  13. That looks a very tidy land rover mate looks just right on the moor thanks mate. not your average 26 year old guys car,i also have a decent car and a bike but i like nothing more than putting my wax jacket on and driving around dartmoor with my dogs pretending im on heartbeat lol. timeless classic

  16. regarding the 5.56 round,im led to believe that it was designed to injure as it takes more people to assist a wounded person then a dead one.thus less people aiming at you!. doesnt quite happen like that allways tho! lol. as all you military types know
  17. id love that job!! dont think my body would allow it tho lol. big respect
  18. I'd say a Beddy/Grey 1st x would go about 23/ 24"; a Beddy/Whippet 1st x would go about 17" to 20", of course, all the Beddy/Whippet owners will give me shit over this, but it is true !! Forget Beddy/Whippet 1st cross if you want a real "allrounder" !! Cheers. and a 3/4 beddywhip 19" to 22" ish
