  6. nice looks very much like my 3/4 beddy whip,i like the smooth coated ones as much as the rough coated now.so much easier to clean as my beddy x jrt with parents is constantly filthy haha
  7. thanks everyone,im chuffed to bits and im pretty sure the pup is too.im gonna be carefull to only give him easy ones and only one run per trip. my pup very developed for 7 months as i think smaller dogs develope physically younger than larger, heavier dogs. my wife will be chief trainer/walker while im gone but both my dogs have strong prey drive so im sure they will naturally develope over the summer and catch some young rabbits to boost there instinct and confidence so when i get back hel be at a nice age (14 months) for late early autunm and next season il have to get the camera out to
  8. i took my 7 month old 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy for a walk last night through the local fields where we walk everyday (which happens to be full of rabbits). we saw loads of rabbits but i didnt want him running them as hes young, anyway he saw a rabbit in center of field loping about (moon was out) and pulling my arms out so i put my high power cheapy torch on it and it didnt seem bothered of our presence and pup was itching to go so curiosity got better of me and i let him go... he trotted down edge of beam half assed but then the rabbit took off and so did the pup.. i was amazed at how fast he

  10. haha silly sod lol.mine can be a lazy sod most of the time too.hes coming on great, hes finally come round to liking the car now(especially landrover) which is great because before he woulnt come near me if he knew he was getting in car but now hel actually willingly jump in! i took him for a walk few days ago and my staffy was working hedgerow and put up a rabbit that flew passed the pup at full speed,he took after it but just missed it by a whisper as it went into another hole.it wasnt long, maybe 70 -100 yrds but i was happy as larry and he seemed to love it as he was looking for more! rece
  11. thanks for advice, this is what iv been doing recently and touch wood its going well! at the moment its a case of judging his body language and dealing with it accordingly. thanks again

  13. hi,i have 2 dogs.a lurcher pup and they are the best of friends.the dog fight was with another dog which snapped at him first(my dog was at heel,so i know this to be true).it lasted only seconds as i was there to intervene...il put the growling as being wired up that time.thanks
  14. yea thats what i first thought "cheap crap" but i didnt want to be a brand snob either but at that price "275 quid" im entering into bsa ultra tactical range and that has good a good fanbase. or could just go whole hog and get a hw100 or r10 etc etc.......cheers
  15. thanks everyone for there opinions some usefull some bullshit macho talk shite. its not a dominance problem as hes very submissive and does what hes told. problem is he on rare occasions seems nervous and thats where the problem lies because hel growl when he thinks hes bein threatend. some usefull information by some people which i will apply(most of which i do anyway).. hes not a nervous dog at all most of time, just a random rareity.like i said before hes the perfect dog 99% of time but has a bit of jeckel and hyde personality 1% of time.me and wife will be keeping a very close eye on hi
  16. Hi mate I got the same garb from my local gunshop. "never had one back, Not even traded back in!" Yada yada. Having a good look around it. I noticed that the craftsmanship was a little tatty to say the least especially the trigger which had a bur on that would take ya finger off. As far as Pcp's go I now little or guns in total for that matter but this thing just did not match the build quality of other rifles on show. I work in used car sales so was ready for his garb anyhow Just my opinion bud don't let me put you off. And am sure with a little emery and half an a hour the trigge
  17. hi all, i was at local gun shop the other day looking at pcps. they had everything there but i said i want a no frills multishot pcp.the manager pointed out this hatsan at-44.it looked good for money and he said the had sold loads andd had no probs at all. anyone own one? what do you think?
  18. thanks everyone,im gonna give him more time untill i go anyway as i hope it is fixable.i know im walking a fine line with him as hes potentially a weapon....however i dont want to fail him. however if it does not get better...... wish me luck
  19. thanks again for more replies.yes he is a very happy go lucky dog who is fun, boisterous and playfull which is why i dont understant him as most the time he is more than happy to be approached for fuss ect. i very rarely raise voice as he is a well behaved dog.however on some rare occasions he growls and not a playful growl either.its weird as its almost like jeckel and hyde.unfortunatly seems to be getting more and more often. i have been talking to him softly when this happens to reasure him and this does work after a while. my fear is can i trust him with wife alone? its hard to understa
  20. thanks for all your replies. he is intact and i will get him snipped. he knows whos boss and does as told when we say.i do give him a kick up the arse but nothing that hurts him.he is submissive to both me and wife and perfect most of time but its almost like he sometimes gets scared if we raise our voices and growls if we aproach him like hes gonna get a smack.once i see hes scared i speak softly to him and reasure him hes not getting smacked ect hes fine and wants to say sorry. like i say hes perfect 99% of time but he just seems to be getting worse lately. im not a walk over owner but n
  21. sorry my explaining is shite.he will only come on sofa if told and will get off when told. i have given him a good kick in the arse before, about a year or so but nothing that hurt him. its as if hes scared of us and gets really nervous if we raise our voices. by me saying "backing down" i mean i can see that hes scared so il speak softly to him and he looks all sorry etc. im not an experienced bull owner il admit, but have been around big powerful breeds most my life so i thought i could give him a good life as hes a rescue.theres only one way to get experience ect. im crap at explaining t
  22. Youll have to stamp it out start by not letting him on sofa and controlling his feed time Id say he growls at you if you touch his bowl you need to take his food away when you want, if your personality isnt up to this or your wives id rehome him to an experienced owner i cant take away his food that is no prob at all,and i cant kick him off sofa 90% of time without a beep. so your saying i should give him a good hiding if he growls?
