Nice pair of terriers,second one seems to know the buisness.

Had a very hard dig to a dog belonging to a friend,and when we broke through after nearly 3 hours the dog was sounding at a bed of grass,to say i was pissed of would be an understatement.The dog in question had been dug to a few times and continued to false mark for his owner who eventually got rid of him.

The lakeland bred right was as good as any breed but like the borders and even the jr the show crowd destroyed them.There is no comparision between the working lakey of old and the kc stuff thats about now at all the shows.Dont get me wrong there still is good working lakey's about but like the border they get harder to find as the years pass but have seen some crackers on here of late so if you can get the right contacts and its work you want it for you could get a good one.jmo.

I have heard noting only good about ac bred dogs,have not heard anyone say bad about them.

There was a 9lb trout caught on lene yesterday by a young lad spinning.He also had 4 other trout up to 4lb while trolling a lene minnow.The lake is fishing really well at the moment.

I was only joking mate. Of course there are lads with good strains of both. Just thought for rabbits he would be better with a kc lakie or border. Damage limitation. FTB FTB i think if its rabbits hes after he should stick to his ferrets and get a nice handy whippet. -

Is the lakie's or borders not diging dogs,i think there's some would disagree,and after reading some of the posts on here recently it wont be long till there all f****d. -
There was a 35lb pike caught in it last year,still plenty good pike in it,and they hold a few pike competitions each year.Get lough lene up on the internet it has all the news and a gallery of some of the fish,pike..trout caught last year.

No micheal was away up the country,not that much into shows,will go to local westmeath hunt show i hear its only out the road from me.

The old reliable neil,taz 63 never fails,also lene minnow good at the minute.

No micheal dont fly fish,would'nt have the patience to sit in one spot for too long and its also nice when trolling around the lake shore you never know what you see.There is trout as big as 12lb in lough lene,i caught one almost 6lb last year,also a nice lake to swim.

Biggest trout was 3lb back to lb but a nice morn fishing and its local to me only 10min down the road.I actually caught a pike well into double figure's a week ago on the same lake while trolling for trout,plenty big trout in it.Have you ever fished for pike around westmeath,there is plenty of small pike lakes hidden away that not many fish,at least 5 around me alone with good pike in them.

My mate and i had a good morning at the trout on lough lene earlier.We had 8 fish between us on the troll using different lures.Lovely lake to fish,crystl clear.

I seriously considered giving up about 10 year ago when all my dogs were stolen,its very hard to come back from that when it happens and i would not wish it on anyone,but i kept goin and i dug with a mate of mine using his dogs NEIL.COONEY thanks neil for all the help back then and now i have a few workers and a couple untried for this season.As for the younger generation there is some descent young lads about who want to learn the right way.A lot of the fault is that they have not got the same freedom to dig as we had so they do as they can.Also a lot are geting ripped off buying dogs that ar

Never did with fox bryan,seen it plenty with badger.pre ban.I think the reason a fox will bolt from a so called bolting terrier is that the dog is giving the fox time and space to move about,where as a harder type will put the presure on and thet either get out or pay the ultimate price.Most sounders will give tongue almost straight away if foxy is home so the fox has every chance to get out before the terrier even gets to it,much the same as a hound say goin into cover,when he picks up the scent he opens up and foxy is out the other end with plenty of space between him and hound.I dont mind a

Dillon its ok for lads to breed that type of dog as long as they keep them too them selves,but a lot of lads see the £signs on the end of a pups tail and say what the f**k if so and so can get £200 for a pup why not me and then the same pup gets bred from again and after a few year there is shite all over the place.I have seen really good looking terriers that were no good for earth work been bred and the pups sold as workers even though the parents were shit.It is more easy to tell a few porkeys than to turn down £200 and you with maybe 6 pups on your yard espesially the way the recession
