  1. maybe thats why he's buying a mk3
  2. seems like a lot of faffing about, when a tic puller does the job in seconds, plus your ferrets wont smell like our ethnic friends
  3. that the kiddies, could find me picture of them
  4. do they lie up more than jills as thats why i hardly use hobs not at all, really ? ive got a hob that will kill and stay with the rabbit and hiss when we take him away from it no two ferrets the same,
  5. get a tick puller, insert the prongs either side of the tick, rotate the ticker puller a few times, tick will let go of fert and come away whole and alive, tap onto work surface and squash the buggars
  6. do they lie up more than jills as thats why i hardly use hobs not at all,
  7. nearly all of my hobs are huge, more down to breeding than eating, but they work just as well as the smaller jills, great for bolting rabbits that want to sit tight
  8. a bit of both, as much as longnetting saves time, you still need to carry a few purse nets for the odd bolt hole outside of the longnets, plus we did a couple of 4 holers, as we were using lots of ferrets to get the rabbits panicing and bolting, you can see how easier it is to use longnets in that situation, otherwise you'd be re-fixing purse nets all day as ferrets popped up and down, I took my old favorite VIXEN a silver jill that works well, plus BRENDA, her silver daughter from last year, and an albino hob grandson from this year, all worked great, were off in a few hours time to do a
  9. Id still suggest trying another set of new batteries, before you look at sending it to deben, reason being, had new sealed batteries ready for ferreting today, always check with the battery tester before putting them in the collars, and 3 out of 8 were dead as a dodo, as your stating fine in the house, but not underground, that to me says batteries, both collar and finder
  10. as already said by the others, thanks for the invite pat, smashing day for ferreting, I'll add a few pictures, although not the one I took of the robin, as its just a red spot in a tree, you can deffinatly see the difference between a cheap digital and your "david bailey"
  11. good question, we dont have a chicken section, but have moved this to "living off the land" as that covers livestock I was compassionate for the fox, until a few days ago, when he killed one of our duck and chucks, and left them laying now he has a death warrent
  12. seems you are too will, by your message header on MSN
  13. have you not got eyes can clearly see the middle ones gutted, well you would be, having your legs hocked together and hung upside down
  14. just shows how important a batery tester is paddy, get one of these from e bay, cost me a fiver £5, save's binning an otherwise good finder
  15. driods got a point on the reccessive fact, I always think back to when I bred exhibition budgerigars, and colour pairing, sometimes a reccessive colour was wanted, but pairing reccessive to reccessive was not a good option, thats not to say it was'ent done, to get a certain colour, these matings were worked out using a register, and were ongoing over a period of years/breeding seasons to end up with a required colour, sometimes you would end up with double factor bird, carrying two recessive genes, pairings from this could give the colour in one mate, rather than over a period of years now
  16. it means it get's censored this time, but deleated next time
  17. just glad to be of help to you both
  18. as Im a night worker, I popped into asda's just after midnight, the queue was at least 200 long, so went back at 3.30am and got one of the last 5 in stock, at £27 got indoors around 4am and have just come off x box live, need to get some ZZzzzzzzzz's but its the best every, better graphics, and you can get in the tanks
  19. the mind goes first as you get older or the fact Ive only paid one years subs, about 2yrs back
  20. So for putting 1 in place of one would warrent a delete? I can understand the U, [bANNED TEXT], L8R and all that but replaceing one with 1?..... you didnt notice "the sometimes" bit then
  21. Im sure they wont hold that against you, even if you were the only Ireland member, that would give you the edge, the point being, anyone with a rabbit problem, that may not know of anyone who ferrets, may do a search on the internet,
  22. somethings the mods will let go, but its more so when someone rights a full story in near perfect spelling, then puts 1 in instead of one, or u instead of you, its luck of the draw, it'll either stay up, or get deleated without warning,
  23. price wise I'd suggest you just quote, what you'd be happy with for a days work, remembering traveling expensise too
