    Surely you could ask a similar question about the collie but advantages could be good feet and a thicker set leg, temperment, brains and obviously retrieving abilities would be good...     Firstly, why get abusive??. So, obedience and the breed of dog have no connection ?. So what your saying is that every breed of dog is suitable for every task?. Don't see many farmers using anything other than collies to work sheep, go and try winning a field trial or an obedience trial with an afghan hound/akita/foxhound/basenji could list them forever.     All of it.First of all you cant put a dogs recall down to breed.Fool.It just happens.If you get a great dog in your lifetime your a lucky man.I had that pleasure. All my dogs after it had to make that grade.And only one came near. Recall is about obedience, obedience is directly related to brain regardless of what any breed blind enthusiast will tell you and certain breeds og dog are brainier than others. Or are you telling us different, if so mate, you're the fool.

    Stopping a dog walking down the beam is no comparison to stopping a dog mid flight.

    If a dog can be stopped in mid flight, then either 1 the owner is a great trainer of dogs or 2 the dogs heart is not in it in the first place. The makeup of the dog is a major factor there is no doubting that, I would hazard a guess that the people saying their able to stop their dogs mid flight have collie or some other strong baseline saturated dogs. Give the same men a pure sighthound or a mix of sighthounds and see how they fare, not so well I wouldn't think.

    Milk on the teat is no guarantee of pups and you shouldn't overfeed a possibly pregnant bitch, it can lead to large pups and problems whelping. Once the pups are born is the time to up the feeding.
