  1. i'll get ringing round tomorrow, can't wait to get this machine going and fill the freezer with dog food all at once and maybe even sell a bag or two . I've been told that if i did catch enough rabbits to feed the dogs that after so long of just eating rabbits it is bad for them as well. So I'll be chucking veg in as well and a load of varied meat fingers crossed!

  3. I'm lucky enough to be getting an industrial mincer to mince rabbits, waste meats etc up for the dogs. The trouble is it's not worth starting up for a dozen rabbits at a time (the amount i normally get at one time) so i need extra meat to mix in along with it. Where are the best places to get meat like chicken carcasses etc for cheap or free. Cheers

  11. saluki greys, The lads well muscled on his back end, the bitch is worse in terms of loosing weight. what do you mean by bad doers?
  12. just been getting a run morning and night for about half and hour to an hour, ill also try upping this. Thought that this will reduce their weight more though if they are burning more calories?

  14. they are on redmills racer at the minute mixed with meat from the abbatoir (heart, tongue and lungs). i'll try the pasta and rice thing, i've never tried sardines no. I just don't like to see my dogs loosing weight when there is food in front of them it's not nice to see an underweight dog. i'll try what you said as well watchman thanks.
  15. Recently since the weather has got a bit hotter my dogs have started eating less food and are loosing weight due to this, any tips to get them eating well again they are saluki x's, hate to see a dog picking at its grub . Any comments welcome
  16. That's what was used up here in cumbria, heard many tales of them on kirby stephen so very hilly land. One dog i was told about took 23 daytime hares in a week. This was in the 60's and 70's
  17. i know of a litter coming up in around 3 weeks time so wont be ready for another couple of month after that

  19. If your just lamping legal game i.e. rabbits then you won't go too far wrong with a collie cross, beddy cross, whippet. No need for bull cross if your only doing rabbit as im sure the other breeds are better on rabbit than the majority of bull crosses.

A way i got quite a bit of permission was because i live out in the sticks and farmers tend to go to the local pub, go a for a few weeks etc if you can and get talking with them but at first nothing about lurchers etc just have a good old craic if they come to like you chances are when you ask later on down the line they will say yes
