  1. Anyone have info on a 3/4 grey 1/4 saluki called johnti? Or could put me in touch with owner. I have a pup bred off him.
  2. haha just shows what you know, did you never get taught how not to shoot. One of the first things i was taught was not to shoot up in the air as a rifle bullet can go on for miles. It was happened and people have been seriously injured. Only an idiot would try and shoot a flying bird with a rifle.
  3. so your only gripe is the fact that you have to buy the birds, if your that bothered than put a high fence up and clip their wings. Oh and it might make half of you look better shots shooting lob sided birds lol.
  4. Actually most peoples rough shoots release some birds as well so they cant be accused of stealing the neighbouring estates birds. A rough shoot syndicate if they have an ounce of decency will put down atleast half what they shoot in a season. Respect!!!!! stealing? if a wild bird wanders on to someone else's land it's no ones to steal. Or are you saying they aren't wild birds and you shoot livestock for fun? he has not done anything illegal so you have't a leg to stand on. It's the same old coursing lads don't like hares being shot and the shooting community dont like birds being taken with

  6. depends on the owner, novice or someone has kept dogs for years and years. Can't see mixing saluki blood with bull blood making a easy trainable dog, but i havent first hand experience of the bull blood influence. . Work a beddy/whip 22tts and it's very biddable and has taken quarry that bites back rabbits and bigger rabbits on the lamp.
  7. it'll click i would of thought, once she dares herself to take a squatter she'll learn that they are easy pickings i would just be patient. i wouldnt worry about, sounds like she'd make a good ferreting dog. versatile dogs collie x's!
  8. sick b*****ds, dont know how lucky you are.
  9. apart from coat for obvious reason why have this cross?? surely it won't be as fast as a straight bull grey? would a deer/grey to a bull not be better as it would have a bit more pace. just curious, cheers
  10. Get a rotty pup, my dads house used to get robbed all the time, we did have a shepard and they are good too, we caught one thief when my dad was away pinned by his bollocks to the gate in, he had to be taken to hospital with his "injurys" . No one will steal a angry rotty on a running chain, also a thing we had to do was train him not to go for meat as we discovered when we had the shepard the thiefs used to chuck a bit of meat for him to eat while they ramsacked the property. Turned out to be the same guy and he tried to chuck the rotty some meat and it didnt work the rotty fancied his meet
  11. you say rabbits aren't a test yet you say roe are a test,,, i would say roe were far easier doesnt take a good en to make one panic and they're not exactly all that fast and yes i am talking daytime
  12. have ran turf fields which is the same short grass as golf courses, unless you've got a fast dog that can turn on a six pence you don't stand a chance imo
  13. to guard and drive livestock, also a collie isn't a hunting dog...
  14. like bulls were hunting dogs i think not.
  15. whats the unusual lurcher cross, Pm if u want mate..
  16. I've been running dogs for 20 years and never heard or seen one being ran so can't really comment, doberman cross greys/lurchers I have seen running but they weren't my scene, I even had a bullmastiff/wolfhound out of a accidental mating and at 11 months old was far too big and heavy so it went to a pet home (worst ever cross I have tried and I will admit that) fair play for giving it a go mate, if no one tried anything new we'd only have on type of lurcher, i wouldn't take a gamble though, but for someone who's got the time and patience you never know.
  17. who knows, if it worked well then fair play.
  18. a bit of bullxgreyhound put into the rottie would fix some of their health faults i agree, a bit of grey in to the kc shit would help, but there are some healthy rotties out there bred to work
  19. a 3/4 bred grey/rottie would be no heavier than a bull cross
  20. But that is a rottie cross with a lurcher not a greyhound, greyhound having a lot more speed than your average lurcher so maybe they would of turned out racier if the rottie lined a greyhound? Still who is going to take this gamble and be landed with unsellable pups? an idiot. If anyone wanted to do this they should cull all but one pup. I do think that looking at some heavy bull crosses that work on less agile/fast quarry a rotty/grey could physically do the same job, mentally who knows? Theres no way a rotty cross would be up to the same as good bull cross! you maybe get very lucky

  22. in good nick mate, what way bred is she?
  23. There's been a shot vixen on my farm that was 18tts so obviously a dog fox would on average be bigger. I could believe it, when you see the size of them in the city.
