  1. thanks it's not my litter but a friends
  2. i've got a copy and it's just as good, better than the clue light that i've tried. plus it cost half the price!
  3. do they come with the transmitter as well? and how do people put them on their dog?
  4. i've got a lurcher that can do the ferreting side of things well enough, so i think i might just keep this dog for digging. He's out of good stuff so want to use him to his full potential!
  5. you've give yourself the answer there mate, but i would wait a few seasons before you do breed a litter just to be sure that they are the real deal. There are a lot more experienced people on here though who have been at the coursing game for a long time, you want to speak to a few of them! My dogs roughly 1/8 whippet 3/8 grey and the rest is saluki lurcher.
  6. cheers just wondering as i've got a pup here and im going to start digging but wouldnt mind taking him along ferreting aswell
  7. well then they should through similar size to sire and dam or somewhere in between, are the sire and dam good coursing dogs? surely if breeding the two the sire should give the pups something that the dam lacks and vice versa
  8. Is it possible to have a decent ferreting terrier and one that you can also dig with? or does this cause more trouble than it's worth?
  9. very big considering the parents size! nice all the same
  10. why would you want a cocker to get stuck into charlie in the first place?
  11. Anything with at least 50 percent sighthound in it. Two different breeds of sighthound crossed is a longdog. I.e saluki/grey, whip/grey and so on.
  12. Hi Shazza, i'm getting some photos later today of the bitch and dog tied for you and will scan them on here, she's not far of dropping apparently! Just looked and i've found a whippet racing club local to me! I'll go along one morning cheers
  13. cheers i'd just like to see how my pup would get on, if there's a puppy race at lowther that would be great! He's about 10 month
  14. Does anybody know the minimum age for a dog to compete in one of these events?
  15. you'll have some fun this season with that pup!
  16. I've got s saluki/grey/whip at the minute and i wouldn't say he's stupid but he's certainly not as good at picking things up in the field as a collie/grey. He takes longer to learn and he seems to have less hunting instinct, but he's only young and he's a dog whereas the collie/grey i had was a bitch and i've been told dogs come on a lot slower than bitches in general. But from the two dogs i've had i would say the collie cross at the same age was alot quicker at learning and had better hunting instinct. JMO and i can't really make a defininate decisoion as i've only had 2 dogs!
  17. That's one hell of a good looking bitch BRI nicest looking saluki grey i've seen on here for sure!
  18. collie/grey, i think they are the most versatile lurcher you can have and i like to try and do a bit of everything, JMO
  19. If mally is right and it's september time, isnt that when most people go on the stubbles with saluki's after hares? I thought it was a good read. That Bill person sounds like a dick, imping that only adults should have lurchers go hunting etc. I'm sure most people on here started hunting when they were a tot. All of the bullshit spouted on here just puts young people off taking up the sport and after all if there are no young people coming through who work lurchers/terriers/whatever then there won't be any working dogs left in the country! There's so much shit discouraging peope from lurchers
  20. i havent got that bigger freezer mate and i mix my stuff with redmills at the minute, they went off their food for a bit so i tried the trick of giving them their bowl for only 10 minutes and if they don't finish it take it away and it worked a treat! The redmills is just used as a mixer really as just giving them the meat i get at the minute wouldn't give them the varied diet you talk about i dont think.
