  1. Although more expensive, get your self a Kania 2000, it a fantastic trap - can use it with a cage to help ensure non target species dont get "killed" Saying that I have had 2 experiences where a hedge hog has somehow managed to squeeze in the cage turn 90 degrees and get killed. Fix the kania on to the tree, your squirrels will just have to come and investigate
  2. If you had not treated this nest So say 10% of the queens survived to make a viable nest in the spring that would have brought in about £4000 in revenue to you and your fellow pesties, instead you went for the quick £40, just saying :tongue2:
  3. Surprised but have had 2 calls today for wasps! its quite chilly here, would have thought the queen would have stopped a while back.
  4. Hi, Would have thought that if you already use fenns and mesh tunnels for rat control, then would know exactly how to trap squirrels?
  5. Here is an interesting thought?? Taken from the "MoleMatters" monthly email Is a mole trap - a trap or a snare?? The dictionary describes a snare as a loop of wire that get shorter when the animal goes in, thats the same as a half barrel mole trap/snare, the loop of wire gets shorter thereby catching the mole. So is it a trap or snare
  6. In answer to Walshie`s comment? Yes I do charge for the services I provide. Could not think of any decent topic to post, so went with this one. Incidently, I AGREE with the 35 day`s. if you havent got things under control, then reavaluate things, you can still keep poison down, just justify why you need to (and write it down)
  7. ME! haha There pretty feckin safe then, especially if you snaring them haha I think that a combination of traps/dogs/shooting AND GOOD HOUSE KEEPING will follow should poisons be banned
  8. External baiting - just in case is out, and you need to justify using bait. But am I correct that I can have baits on a farm (internally) just in case?
  9. Work? what you do when not catching "furry friends"
  10. Very interesting read. Tp I assume you lightly cover the fenns with soil so that the rabbit does not know? or do you set in all holes so they have no choice but to "go for it"
  11. You have a lunch break!! Thats not playing fair
  12. Or, if your really cheeky, pop into a store selling tv`s tell them you want to check the quality of dvd`s
  13. Rem, Lots of excuses, would you like us to start a hardship fund for you? Could always buy an external cd player that plugs into laptop, just a thought
  14. Does Woodga`s dvd show rat snaring? or do you simply make rabbit snares smaller but same principle??
  15. It simply was to see how the critters were getting on to the work surface, hence leaving the fruit in place. My point really was to highlight that the rats by passed each trap, some were baited with chocolate, slightly melted so it sticks to the trap and not easily removed, others with peanut butter
  16. Have tried rat trapping but find the rats really clever, certainly the older ones. They are able to by pass all sorts of my booby traps. Had a rat job in a kitchen, no real idea how they were getting on to the work surface, but always some droppings, eaten fruit etc. Put 6 spring traps out baited with peanut butter up against wall/floor junctions and a camera. The rats were climbing up the back of washing machine via a hole (not seen) and climbing up and on to the kitchen surface with the 1" gap betwwen to top od machine and kitchen top. Rats dodged all traps, took the fruit, cr
  17. Thought I would throw this in, may help some of you?? When ever I write my report on jobs involving rats/mice - I ALWAYS ALWAYS mention that I have searched for dead rodent bodies, and state numbers if found (as per instructions on the pack) Been a couple of cases recently where a non target has been poisoned, Environment Agency gets involved and may find that you been working at a neighbouring farm/property. Will help you stay on the right side of the law.
  18. Anyone using Barratine "Muskil" or Neo Sorexa Gold. What do you think of them? Do they work for you? What rodenticide do you use regulary? Do you use DIFFERENT baits for rats/mice.
  19. Only time will tell!, I will let him call me, Luckily I have too many moles, so a few less wouldn`t be bad
  20. In 3 words only, tell me about your day, today
  21. Signed paperwork is a must these days, of course that also depends if the person has "capacity" to understand the proposed treatment. The correct paper work will keep you out of jail
