  3. Very good post SC. I have a friend, that has a whippet x, that is 12, he has mainly be fed on complete food, along with rabbits ect. He works like a 2 year old and has, been worked hard all his life! He has a 14 year old terrier, that still does a bit, again, mainly complete food fed. None of his dogs, has, ever, had a days bad health, injury's yes, but not bad anything else. His other dogs average around the 4 to 5 year mark and are very good on the lamp, working most nights! I, personally, feed both, works well.
  4. Top looking pup that and you are doing a mighty job with her, good luck, keep up the good work.
  5. How many of your dogs has this caused problems with? My lurcher cracked a back tooth, it was causing her some discomfort, so i took her to the vet, in the meant time, some tooth came away. The vet said, feeding soft raw bones was fine, but not, weight baring bones. He said she was lucky, if it was cracked deeper, it would of needed surgery! High vets bill! He said, lamb breast, young rabbits, chicken was fine, but stay away from heavy, weight baring bones, like ox knuckle, marrow ect.
  6. Why do you freeze the rabbits for three weeks before feeding them??? worms
  7. make sure to freeze the rabbits for 3 weeks first, then defrost and feed minced up, before feeding to pups.
  8. Ox knuckle, now, that's a bone, i would NOT, feed my dogs! It breaks up their back teeth and believe you me, you don't want that!!
  9. Thats totally true ! I went there in 84 to take a look at "THE HANCOCK EMPORIUM" as Plumber put it ! I was greeted by several 1/2 cross classless, over weight, mongrels, running round ,which didnt even look like lurchers. Then i witnessed Taffy going demented on a chain ! Followed by his stud greyhound,"Shooting news" ,with his nails 2 inches long ! The finaly was about 20 brood track greyhound bitches in pig stys, all with pups at different stages. What a disapointment to a young lad , but at least i found out what they was all about !
  10. No, it was a Oz cattle dog x greyhound, don't know who bred it, but it was not D. Slieght. This thread is fast becoming 'confused.com.' Sorry if i have it wrong, that is it as far as i know?.
  11. Feral in some places. Wild in others. Get over to the Forest of Dean or the New Forest. There are plenty about and they sure aren't feral. One chased my bro a few years back when we went jogging and it went at him like a demon. I'm sure someone did genetic testing on some of the pigs from those areas a few years back; they showed a marginally different genetic makeup to feral pigs: Suggesting inbreeding of a small relict population, with no new blood for many many generations. I think i read that somwhere but i might be wrong................ I still think, from passed experien

  15. hancock and plummer, stole, a lot of knowledge ect, from good dog men and wrote books with it! After getting them selfs a good name threw books, Hancock gave up chicken farming and turned the sheds into puppy farming instead. !!!!
  16. Indy was a good coursing bitch, from what i seen on the dvd's, she was 22''
  17. I thought coursing was banned in 2005? It says 2002 in that news clip? !! I think fair play to them, they did it for a bit of sport and ate the hares after and not throw them away. By the way, i can not seem to get the ip,player to work over here in Ireland, anyone know how to get round this? I would love to watch it..
  18. best of luck with your pup, their a cracking wee dog, mate has one here as well and he is all ways working, they live for it.. Do you need a pet passport to get a pup over from the uk? Or would i need one to take my dogs over for a visit? Thanks.
  19. how do you feel, shooting a feral boar? their not exactly wild in the uk are they?? unless ye went abroad and shot it, in that case, fair play. thing about rifle men is, they can get very greedy at times, i know, i was one myself and seen my so called rifle friends, shoot everything going, even hares in the summer. thank god i sold my rifle. !! not all rifle men are like this, but a lot are. !
