  3. A friend of mine has a wee bitch, 24'', ex track, he got her at 2, she is a great one, but he put a lot of work into her. I have not seen her on a hare, but she sounds good for a greyhound, boxing in ect.
  4. Likewise, i also would make sure, i was nowhere near a road. !!
  5. Can this dog catch hares consistently in southern Ireland, where their are small fields?? I am talking west of Ireland small fields?? It takes a good dog to do that, as their up and gone threw all sorts of hazards, fences ect, before ye know it??
  6. I enjoyed that clip, thanks. Hows the pup bred? Good luck with her.
  7. Good men, thanks for all your replys, interesting stuff.
  8. Ok, thanks Speedie. Paddy, thanks for that as well, does C.M still have that strain? I have heard that lads in Kildare, have good dogs, of all types for hunting.
  9. Speedie, i am not trying to cause a argument? I just wanted to know, what was the best dog any lad over here owned. I dont know you, or many coursing lads to be honest. Their is a man in my town that does a good bit, but i dont know him too well. Over the last 22 years, i have had the odd, second hand coursing dog, but nothing that was a world beater.. I mainly have rabbit dogs. I would like to get into it proper, but not 100% sure yet, hopefully i will. I am very interested in it, so that is why i ask all these quetions, that is all. I also like the banter that goes with it, about
  10. To the lads here in Ireland, over the years, what has been your best coursing dog you have ever owned? How was it bred ect?
  11. I have heard of a few browns being here alright, have not seen them myself, would love to run one sometime here, if i come across them, would make a change from our Irish ones.
  12. I've never done the irish hare mate so I take your word for it. Are you talking white or brown? I am talking Irish, they are a different species. They sometimes reach the same size and weight as the brown and can at times run just as strong as the brown, but, the brown hare, is the strongest out the lot.
  13. The scottish hare, is far more easy to catch, then the Irish hare, that's for sure.
  14. Over here, he would be a good one to put over a good whippet x greyhound bitch.
  15. When he says its not eating, is it picky? What does it eat,if it eats at all? Some get spoiled, either too much food gets left down, or their is food their 24-7. They need to be kept keen, too much and they wont eat, some salukis are funny that way. That dog looks like t has a fair amount of saluki in it as well.
  16. Got 1 this year and seen a few more, its the hard winter id say, seen a few last year as well, when we had all that hard weather then.
  17. Sorry mate, don't know much about the dog, but seen the clips on you-tube and was impressed.
  18. Very good feed for pups, especially soaked in goats milk...
  19. I have been looking at this pup for a while now and was very, tempted, but alas, not a good time right now, i am very glad, she has gone to a good working home, best of luck to the man that got her and Cocker, she was a cracking saluki pup.
  20. I would give him a ring and have a chat with him Lawrence, he will tell you the truth, no bullshit.
  21. He is meant to be a prooven sire, but have not seen any pup out of him run. I have been told, that if a grew is to be used, make sure he races bends ect, as well as straight line.
