  1. Spot on. i totally agree, a few dogs on here are too fat. Your dog looks in great shape and fit, the way they should be looking. , credit to you and well done on the bunny's.
  2. Love the first run, straight to the hare, all over it then bang. do well over here in ireland id say.
  3. Any other dogs lads? Any comps ect in the uk, with irish bred dogs in the passed, competing against uk bred dogs, how did they go?
  4. Apart from irish lady, which other coursing dogs were well known and good in ireland?
  5. pm me lad  wats up long time no hear pm casso on here and ask him how his pup from my black dog is doin!!!! @johnny.. why ya looking for a 6 month+ old pup? ya in a rush to get a dog for ferreting, laming rabbits for during the summer? get a good worker to worker bred lurcher of the smaller kind(which there are plenty about) pup 6-8weeks old. that way your not inheriting any puppy probs from others a imo 6 month old is to old to buy. get a good summer bred pup johnny and put your all into it and you wont be dissapointed .........
  6. She is a grand looking bitch. how do you find her to train? is she responsive, or aloof ect? Thanks.

  8. Hows that wee whippet of yours getting on LG?
  9. Great thread lads. Some cracking dogs and experiences.
  10. How much saluki do you favour in your dogs Paddy? Do you think whippet x grehound in the mix, along with saluki, gives it that extra zip for our type of land? Cheers..
  11. Ok, thanks Bolio.. Shame that, id say he was friend no more after selling her?
  12. Thanks for that Bolio. She seems to have done well, i would be happy with that. Any dogs running from her now, did you breed from her?
  13. Grand looking bitch their Bolio, how was she bred?
  14. whippet x greyhounds and collie x greyhounds. Over the last 15 or so years, the saluki x greyhound x whippet is getting popular, a lot of coursing bred dogs from the uk are being bred here, but, we need a up and at them type, that gets on term with its hare quick, otherwise its gone.
  15. Well said, that about sums up the ex track/coursing greyhound. I had a x track bitch back in 1991, she was great on hares, never tryd her on foxes, but she broke her neck, coursing a hare as she went down for the strike, took a tumble! Below is another coursing greyhound, the fawn bitch and a ex track greyhound, the white and fawn bitch. The ex track bitch, has come on great, with a lot of work, but the coursing bitch, was no good..!
  16. Christ, was that rabbit crossed with a hare??
  17. yes 4 it knows the crack, but regards peaked its how much you give the dog really. Say you only go out couple times a week, and only give it dozen runs when out. It could work like this at 8-9 years old, but if given hard nights 20 30 runs when out, it could be knackerd at 6-7 years old , i think we forget they are dogs not machines Good post.
  18. Anyone, have old footage of the forley cups?
  19. You get the odd one that will take all and are good. If raised from a pup, they would make good workers, but injury prone. Small greyhounds would be better.
