It started as a bet that you can't catch a roe on open land..then it went to.. You cant: Bend a roe Catch a hare then a roe Carry 50kg for 10 mile then catch a hare then catch a roe... It'll be walk to Hull with 50kg catch 3 hares then a roe, drink 20 pints and walk back home by the time its finished! Lol

The bottom line is hunting and particularly hunting with dogs is by far for the minority few... we are being driven into extinction regardless of what laws are passed because there is a lack of interest from youngsters coming through...we are dinosaurs mate.. unless we can find a way to make country pursuits more appealing we're f****d anyway... I live in rural England, pretty much most of my lads mates either hunt or fish in some way or another, but no way as regularly we did at their age, we spent every hour outside, there was f**k all worth doing inside... Internet, gaming, mobiles etc are

Brothers about to start one, one of our mates gave him an older merc sprinter, ex works van.. its in garage now for servicing.. once running he'll convert.. he's decent at that sort of thing...ill just nick it when it's done! Lol

I think Stiff is right, for your average man hunting with dogs is not ever gonna be accepted, as hunting men we can argue the positives until we are blue in the face but they will never understand. Couple that with videos and pics on social media usually put up by muppets that shouldn't own a dog in the first place and you add the fuel to the fire... The technological world is taking over, kids are on phones, computers, gaming etc more than we ever did, its how they socialise... I'm sure all of us have taken our kids out and shown them our way of life, but few of them really grab hold of

Was in Tavistock a few weeks back after a walk up the moors with Mrs and youngest.. we ended up eating in the Mary Tavy Inn... it was shit! Wish I'd known about this place, will definitely be visiting soon mate..

I'll send to my niece mate, she has a degree in ancient history and archaeology... was on her first dig last year in Nottingham, 6 month placement... struggling a bit to get archaeology work at the moment though... She is an encyclopedia on roman times, artifacts etc, ancient history is really her thing.

She'd be no good on hares on open land mate, not her thing... I've shot her now anyway... f***ing 5 minutes chasing a rabbit around the forest... definitely a cull!! Lol
