Wouldn't be an issue at all mate, how's ur pups going? the 3 that went to working homes coming on well. I'm very happy with how bitch is acting. Great little character, into everything. Il try get recent pic up. She is just under 18" now
  2. You couldn't fault that pup, he's a cracker, nice bit of length in the body. Who knows, if that pup of mine turns out a good bitch and likewise with that dog of yours. If I have the need of a bigger dog in future. He'd be a good choice for stud. Some of the same blood top and bottom of the p.b.t breeding. Hope he does all you ask of him
  3. I know the litter your on about. Should be serious animals. v.well bred. Hope the pup works out for you I've a pup from that litter you lads are on about great to see genuine bull blood being put out in the field lads. they should give great sport if they live up to the blood behind them. Hope they work out for yous lads.

  6. I see the point your making and agree about the terrier or saluki being bred to kill more so than interact but as for a well bred pit bull, I believe a dog that has good interaction skills with his conditioner or handler would be a much easier dog to work with to get in shape and even respond to his handler in the heat of battle under very strenuous conditions. through selective breeding I believe good interaction skills are fairly common in the breed. In my very limited experience with these fine animals I've found the few I was around to be very trainable. Also as a breed they seem to be a
  7. Funny thing is.. I hunt that very grounds in that pic regularly.
  8. Granted. Not ancient but reliable. I'm thinking Glenn or wheaten...
  9. I'm not saying my way is Gospel. I'm just saying it has yet to serve me wrong
  10. I know it's a light hearted topic but for what it's worth.. Focus on what is at the end of your lead. I imagine The owners or fanciers of the dogs of old were not exempt from ego, pride and lies, just like us. Forgive the cliché ( paper does not refuse ink) and as for the art work we see of these " statuesque hunting dogs of old that we base our "ideas" or "ideals" on, well.... Il put it like this.... If I was to paint a portrait of my wife, you better believe, if I had any sort of skills with a brush, she would be painted with the intention of making her look a dam sight more appealin
  11. the ground I mostly hunt on ( by design) what you are talking about happens on the regular, weather I mean it or not. And to be honest it's worked in my favour in regards to recall from what I can tell. Eg.. I'm walking in thick scrub and woods, dog easily looses sight of me or vise versa if I'm not paying attention. I could be focused on a chase with the older dogs. Anyway... I try see this as a positive situation with a running dog pup. Pup has maybe got a little adventuress and gone his own way and lost sight of me and dogs, as I imagine happens in the wild..pup feels a little anxiety,
  12. I have no experience of g.s.d / Belgium Shepherd or mallinios x greyhound but I imagine if you were totally against bull x grey. I would think they fit the bill for what I think your after. In their pure form that are pretty fearless (not game) but still a rough, Hardy animal. Very intelligent, trainable and crazy prey drive.good feet. And I'm sure you would have many a good dog to choose from in states for a breeding
  13. Big fan of the hdi engine. I think my next wagon will be a Berlingo van 1.6 as said earlier, bomb proof engine and great on the juice
  14. ye have him in great nick sully.has he still got decent feet on him? My bitch threw more to the pit in the foot but more to the whippet in shape.
  15. And if he doesn't make the grade, your f****d... Cause the missus won't let ye get rid. He's an eye catcher. My daughter is gonna kill me for selling this one
  16. Still one left lads, as racey as you might get from a 1St x . 130 come on lads don't be shy. I'm mad to start putting a bit of 1 on 1 time in with my own Bitch. 1St to see this pup in the flesh will take my arm off to get him lol
  17. Bitchs first day out in field.11 weeks old Friday gone
  18. not asking you to name and shame but is the "working dog" from an Irish breeders own line? No I think it was an English breed of working whippet a well known one. To be honest I just think I fell for the spiel. She has turned out oversized and wooden. ah right, reason I ask is that I have seen an Irish bred line to throw some big lads

  20. I know you'll do him right sully. I'm happy with the two working homes pups went to. I gifted one to a friend as a companion dog. He thought he succeeded in breaking it to his chickens... He didn't lol
