    I asked to photograph his dogs, as he lives about 15 miles from me . . . i'm a photographer, its what i do . . . . unsure of the kind of chicks you hang around with if a request to photograph your dogs is considered a chat up line?!?! If i'd put "nice dogs, lets meet for a walk and full penetration " . . . then yes i could understand your shock at my brashness. that told him hannah.but i dont know about full penetration i just aint that kind of boy any way i have been in turkey for the last two weeks and with all that food i all ready have a sore arse

    @ above. Same as female athletes. Being so fit and carrying no fat interferes with their oestrus cycle. But also some bitches never come into season, happened to a mate of mine's 3/4 deerxgrey many years ago. We wanted to cover her with a very useful dog I owned at the time, and waited about 4 years for her to break down but she never did.

    Got to agree with that, I can't remember ever seeing a whippet with bad feet. And you'd get more runs in a given amount of time, as they recover quicker after a run than any other type of running dog I've seen. And I wouldn't worry about the fact that they don't have the thickest coat/skin, barbed wire will rip any dog, regardless of the amount of coat it has, if it hits it with enough speed, and have yet to see one not enter cover to make a catch. Also seen lurchers of all types look less than happy in bad wind/rain, not just whippets. I think whippets are great and very underrated

    Well it looks like chickens4ever is carrying out some pest control using his dogs, and it looks to me that they're doing a good job. Could ask the same question about salukis in their native land. If they are so good why is it that the pics/videos I see on here have 3, 4, 5 or even more coursing one hare/gazelle?

    well said Tom. ..@ Manitoba. Said it a previous post, whippets are just as tough as most lurchers, whatever the cross, and will crash into some of the thickest cover to catch whatever they are chasing, and certainly don't lack determination. Brilliant little dogs

    Collie/grey x deerhound/grey. Maybe not the best for ferreting, but as all round lamp dogs I think they take some beating

    36 years. Started with walking my old man and his mate's greyhounds which they ran at bedwellty and ystrad mynach. Then had whippets then lurchers ( not at the same time ). Started lamping locally around 1980ish, then as I got older ventured further afield to run my dogs at hares, which were scarce in my area. Now, with age catching up with me etc, lamping is pushed to the back of my mind and am thinking of getting another whippet for daytime work.

    Bedlington crosses were popular around my area years ago and were mostly used for daytime/ferreting. The ones I saw on the lamp were fine as long as they caught, but if they missed they hunted up like f**k! Don't know if it was down to the way they were trained, but it put me off them as lamp dogs.

    What language is that you're writing in mate? Did you go to the same school as whin. The person that told you that you could breed with her now was right, well you will be able to breed her when she comes in season, it wouldn't be the right thing to do but it would be possible. The better option would be to give her a few years graft and see how she turns out, if you're happy with her take it from there.

    7 months? As above. 7 months it's still a VERY young pup. Why are people in so much of a fecking rush to start pups off? Give em time, more so with a lot of the bigger/greyhoundy types As l said not my pup and not the way l bring my own up but everyone till there own so less pup and more about 1/4 bull 3/4 greys pls No probs, I appreciate that everyone has their own way of doing things, it's just that the last few years it seems that most people who are getting involved with terriers and lurchers can't wait to get them started.
