    I run two dogs aswell mate both off the lead walking free and it's easier to teach them to wait quietly when they have been out on their own and done a bit and understand what the game is about ...     Don't think it's such a 'one off' or different litter than what's been bred pretty regularly for about the last 20 odd years, track dog bred to a shit bull type. Just the internet has made things easier for a lot of people to breed and advertise such shit. Don't think I'll be putting my name down for one anytime soon

    Don't care how well anyone 'thinks' they know their dogs, I certainly wouldn't be leaving any of my dogs, adults or pups, loose around any staff, even supervised, Tragedy in the blink of an eye is very very possible with these dogs

    Aint seen many beddy x's work, but of the ones I have seen, none of em yapped. I don't believe any x or type is more prone to yapping than any other type, but rather it's the owners that run em too young or unfit, or more than likely both, and also overwhelming the youngster with stupid impossible slips, rabbit too close to cover etc, too far away for youngster to gain ground on it or whatever.     £63 for 13kg is still daylight robbery, and to th o p, I know you said you didn't want a dicussion as to barf v complete, but surely, the prices that are charged for complete as against barf/raw etc is absolute madness, especially given the fact that almost all completes will be recommened by vets that have shares etc in these companies, and when your dog developes some skin complaint/reaction or whatever to said completes, the vets will be rubbing their hands with glee while treating your dog and recommending an even dearer wheat/gluten/whatever free complete for your dog.

    Gaf, you took a chance considering the height of the parents, 24" and 24 1/2", just about borderline ok for rabbits, just hope their feet don't get a lot bigger! And giving them weetabix for a few meals to start em off, well!? . Really like that light brindle pup. Like I said before, not really my type, but cracking pups

    I think there's still less difference in all the sighthounds between years ago and modern times, apart from some of the deerhounds, not so much the height of them, but the weight. An aquaintance of mine has a pure deerhound dog of 32" tts and he weighs 126lb! Far too heavy to be of any practical use, as although he's fairly fast, he's got no real agility or balance to speak of

    Very good interesting link that. What I find hard to fathom though is that many people find it hard to accept the fact that big strong whippets have been around for many many years, and from quite a few different lines, they are not a relatively, as far as purebred whippets go, new thing

    I'd much rather look at the pics IWW puts up of his cracking bitch and the scenery etc, than read the tedious drivel most of you coursing lads put up of foxy, prancer, dancer etc, or their irish bred equivalents or whatever, and their breeding for the last god knows how many generations behind them. I'd suggest it's you lads that have too much time on your hands lol

    Agree with most of what you've written there, and as I've posted a while back, big whippets have been around for as long as they've been called whippets, and are certainly not a new thing. I owned a 21" bitch, her dam being 21" and the sire 22", and a dog just over 22" (both with papers and registered) from slightly different lines, in the early 80's, and I didn't consider them to be out of the ordinary, as I'd seen dogs of similar size plenty of times before I owned them.
