    I take it you know what devils advocate means , so I`ll skip that bit. He placed himself in harms way for no reason at all. He risked leaving his wife a widow so he could have a go at shooting a man with a machine gun. What part of that is clever or wise ?

    Mik, no offence mate, but working as a ltd company abroad, spending yer spare time inside an asian hooker isn`t a normal life. Plenty are happy just to send their wife a fat bank balance to pay for the Merc while she boffs her PT and they spend thier onshore time in Bangkok Most want to spend time with their family. 3 and 3 equates to working 12hr shifts 3.5 days a week with no holidays, the difference being you can`t go home at night and are stuck on a shithole with no working wifi cause it costs too much.     Ltd company working abroad is fine. But how much time do you spend at home ? none. Fair enough you don`t pay tax and keep all yer money, but the time away is dire, and some things are more important than money. 3 and 3 is seven months of the year away from home and paying 40% tax for the privilege, no thanks. And as for North sea guys not knowing how easy they have it, thats bullshit sorry. Going back to Nuclear power. Shift job, working less days per year than offshore and my own bed every night.

    Yup My new job is a great shift pattern based on 12 hr days and nights. Training wage for 6 months then pretty comfy after that. Hate working away now and they are piling the pressure on. We`ve had 2 nervous breakdowns and a heart attack death at 48 in the last couple of years and they have just cut the shit out of the workforce so more grief for those left. Flew back into Aberdeen last week and the heliport was full of tied up stored Eurocopter 225`s. No one allowed to fly them cause they can`t be depended on to stay in the sky.     Thats it. Had enough. Would rather earn much less and be happier than drag my arse out there any longer. Will be skint for maybe 6 months, but have prepared. Anyone contemplating the offshore life, it`s going down the pan. Oil price is rising and the companies still want your blood and firstborn cause they are "skint" Anyhoo, at least the dogs will get properly worked this winter.

    Nice gun that. Had one years back and tuned it, After diesling at 75ft/lb and shooting a hole in my garage, it settled at 35 ft/lb. Absolute torture to shoot, would jump about all over lol. Detuned it to a steady 20 ft/lb and it was a dream to use. If you can hack the weight they are a superb gun.
