  1. I love these informative threads. Keeps you ahead of the game. Thank you.
  2. last years never had legs .. I believe that neither did Lab or Ruby after a few beers Cheers, D. This bang wagon must have some sturdy f***ing wheels on it!!!...???
  3. Probably not mate....but neither would swearing or making remarks about "shit shooting" but it happens from the beating/ picking up team. As I've said this can be done at a training stage and if the dog is trained to a high standard then the guns should hear nothing but a few short toots of a whistle. Infact if I was a gun I'd rather see someone scruff his dog and get it under control than watch an out of control dog or worse listen to a bloody whistle every 2 secs.....??
  4. An Elf shouldn't really be driving...:-)
  5. Simple question mate would you find it acceptable for a picker up to act that way behind the guns?personally I expect a higher level of professionalism and so do my guns I'd rather my pickers up turned up with trained dogs and done the job that's asked. Who am I to tell them how to train there dog?

    Springwatch

The fox that had a limp because it MUST have a thorn in it's paw. Yes they were quite worried that this might effect it's 'hunting' ability.....f**k off it's not a cheetah...lol

    Springwatch

Watched a bit yesterday. They seemed amazed that a fox had caught a young rabbit...f***ing shock horror. There was a small bit about the badgers and all the things they eat like slugs, frogs and insects. No mention of jyst "anything they can catch easily" then????
  8. What's there is excellent. Would like to have see the full fox though.
  9. Ffs somebody has jumbled up the name of the fishery...lol
  10. I get some of your points but i didnt see a bully i seen a forceful harsh physical correction but not a bully if he was standing over the dog verbally shouting and screaming at it and physically knocking the dog when the dog was cowering and you could see the dog was distressed yes i would see a bully but i didnt see that imo the only thing i seen that was not for me was the picking up by the ears he could of lifted it a better way if he had done that would there of been this thread ????Yip there would still have been this thread. Why? Because this is THL and everyone likes to comment, whether

  12. "We??"......has your life partner Barry asked you to arrange it??
  13. When you say help with this and help with that....who would the 'keeper' be helping?
  14. You should have the woman now eh? She was the same as the last guy over this matter. I've had the same shit about not firing enough ammo too. Simple facts are I have 17 acres to shoot foxes on. All these foxes are ones that walk passed my window. So I'm not going to go and fire 20/30 bullets at nothing just to renew my license. I've just got it for another 5 years. At the end of that I'll be getting rid of my .22 but wanting to keep my .222 for the odd Roe.
  15. If your used to seeing it without then it just looks odd when you see them with.
  16. I am completely surrounded by forestry. There's is the usual forestry track that dog walkers use but surely it's down to me thats taking the shot if it's safe or not? The arguement I had was they would not grant me a license on my 17 acres on safety reasons....yet if I went and got my license granted elsewhere then it would be up too me if I used my gun on my own 17 acres. Now surely if it's unsafe to grant a license then it's unsafe to shoot there full stop!!!
  17. Ah this debate. I hate when the FO comes to mine to renew my .222. They refuse me on 17 acres yet I have a game farm to run. Surely I qualify for atleast vermin control??? Luckily for me I have somewhere else I can put down. No game farm now so probably end up getting rid when the times comes round. Too much hassle.
  18. I don't see why you've used hounds and a staffie to compare. What you have mentioned are 2 breeds which i would say need less training than a working gundog. Yes there will be certain aspects of a hound that needs to be trained but when it's working it's on it's own with the pack and thinking for itself. Majority of staffies nowadays are pets and only training they need is to stop licking you and keep of the couch.Of the three breeds you have mentioned the gundog is the one mostly suited to working alongside there owner. They must listen to commands, watch and do as they are trained too do. Th
  19. You'll need to speak to the council and see if they'd be interested in selling it then and at what price.
  20. So you wanting to buy the house your in???
  21. Isn't it about 10% of the asking price upfront for a deposit??
  22. It's nothing to do with picking them up by the ears though.

  24. i think you may find that you would need to prove all other methods have been tried and failed in order to meet the terms of the general license, i.e mesh ball on the chimney pots and bird proofing all access points to your roof, not trying to put you down or anything but if someone made a complaint you could get into grief very quickly,What about "I don't like them stealing all the nuts and bread I put out for the garden birds".... Is that a reason?? i don't believe for one minute you put owt out for the birds you tight Scottish fooker I beg your pardon....I just emptied my Dyson onto the g
