Good stuff if I get back in to bird breeding it’ll be mule breeding I’ve done a bit but nowt serious I’ve bred a few British like Siskins, redpoll and goldfinchs an a few mules. A lot of people mule with mosaics for pied mules. if you bred a red eye bird from 2 normal mosaics the cock would be the carrier it’s the same as (cinnamon) remember seeing a post on here it was a long one about mules by bunny’s/bill hardy had some great mules think the Hens he was using were Norwich x mosaics. Lot of money them pea an chav goldies
-
Good luck mate ??What muleing hens you using?
-
Nice one gnipper what type of mule did you breed?good going on number bred can’t you Chuck half in the aviary half in moult out cages that you think might be male an have good shape to them. Birds are hard work it’s all good breeding time breeding them it’s this time of year waiting to see what’s what

Cheers phil ??That was a nice bird it had a few people shook when I entered the bird in the show people were asking who’s it was all day I was having people bid me for him some of these guys were showing under champions I had a few crazy bids but I didn’t sell. When I did finish the stud was dissolved the bloke who supplied me my original stock had the main stud back

Same as me with the Lurcher it’s time to slow down I’ve to many young kids, family life house, graft to attend I wanna see my kids grow as life’s short an there not young forever I used to put a lot of energy in to running dogs breeding birds. I’ve been thinking a similar sort of thing I might get in to a bit of mule breeding again nothing to serious just something manageable 4-5 pairs

I was I was on a mission I was told as a bit of a insult to me it takes years to get a good standard of red birds an for a novice to breed or even get birds placed on the bench from 1-4th you’d need to know what you were doing i was ruthless with line breeding I proved a point upset a few people along the way an got some good respect earned an made some good friends along the way I had a bet I could get best in show before I completed my 5 seasons showing as a novice I done it in 4 seasons after I got best in show at the national I felt there nowt left to prove an dissolved the stud
-
l love the reds cheers mate ??I thought I might build another but the more I think about it I think of time involved
-
It’s hard work mate my average of young was 50-60 young per season just to pull 3-4 birds for the show bench it seemed a lot of hard work
-
This bird here I recon was the best bird I bred he was a intensive red variegated cock bird I won best in show at the national show with him

Just been through my photos I dropped on a few memories of when I was breeding reds for the show bench an how hard it was breeding good birds to show an the amount of waist birds produced just to get a few I thought we’re worth showing an breeding from I used to practice true line breeding an also I used to cull hard I’ve a few funny memories of bird world political stuff that still makes me chuckle thinking about it…

I’ve used them on dogs I’ve raced an dogs I’ve lamped they seem alright. On the dogs I’ve lamped I always put a bit of electrical tape round em just for that bit of extra security I also have the Velcro’s facing outwards not like what’s in the picture facing inward

Alright mate you can get proper pad protectors off eBay I’ll see if I can find you a pic of what I’m on about
-
I remember this post years back I was folding it some great mules bred real top end stuff I read back through it all last night it’s sparked a little bit of interest for me again with birds. Surprised at the end that bunny’s could be bill hardy
-
Cheers for clearing that up bro??Still sounds as though it’s pointless though that sounds even worse

Lamping rabbits with PUNCH
poxon replied to Andrewreynoldshunting's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Good vid some good catches there ?? -
It clearly says he’s been told (obviously by another fool who ain’t got a clue) about day time is the easiest after he’s bought a lamp so there for he wants to lamp or he would of said he’s just bought some ferrets or nets I’ll Agee to disagree here it makes no difference to me
-
I’m not sensitive I just point out I couldn’t give a f**k an I’m not in to all this matey matey shit with randoms of some interweb forum doing this nights out for nights out with people I don’t know from next man chasing an catching is in the dogs genetic makeup that’s what they do??but a rabbit plugged from some wood land an taken to the middle of some field an dropped /baited ain’t going to run the same as a bolted rabbit that knows it’s patch is all it teaches is the owner drops rabbits that will run shit because it ain’t a clue we’re it’s going The post has been read he wants t

I couldn’t care less what he does pleb147 ??Just pointing out that dropping is baiting an a wanker move your the only twat that thinks it educates a dog. No point in asking me a question to justify your answer your trying to argue with the wrong person?? he’s talking of lamping hence why he’s bought a lamp i don’t need education on how to catch I do perfectly fine I have no trouble bringing dogs on or training them cheers for the education young man ??
-
Trapping an releasing is baiting ya fool so there for it’s a wanker move ?completely different using a dog to pin a bolted rabbit that’s just bolted in to a net…..or just remove the net ?? im no rocket scientist but he’s wanting to lamp hence why he’s just bought a lamp ?so makes no difference what so ever what day time rabbits are doing if he’s expecting to run them under the cover of darkness my suggestion would be run them under the cover of darkness don’t be being a wanker dropping shit for dogs the human an dog will soon Lean how to operate the lamp an how the game works
-
Dropping rabbits for dogs is a wanker move that’s what clueless wankers do??but you can see why the running dog games nearly f****d with advice like that given out
-
Nice looking dog by the way who bred it? How’s it bred
