    I’ve done no dig gardening here the last 3 yrs an grown some great food I normally add one Bag of bought manure an 2x bags of compost per rased bed It’s a expensive old doo i bought the chickens for my kids to make our own manure an for the eggs I’ve also bought 2x compost bins to compost all the house hold waist as our local council want to charge us a extra £40 a year to take a compostable waist away

    I wouldn’t plan on having chickens running the tunnel when I’m growing stuff at this moment the last few things that were sort of growing I’ve left for there sacrifice they can have them My thought is that I can use the chickens as a free means of pest control without using any chemicals as it’s natural behaviour for them to scratch and hunt for bugs an grubs my main problems is baby slugs an wood lice I don’t mind the odd big slug having a go at the odd thing in there but the baby slugs hammer everything my plan has been kill any big slugs on site to try an damage the cycle of there breeding

    Bought in the professionals in got this little 8x6 poly tunnel the end of last growing season to add to our little garden veg patch as we’re on a little mission to grow as much food as we can this coming season I planted it out with lettuce,radish, a few beetroot an a few greyhound cabbage it was a bit of a disappointment tbh we did have a few harvest of bits an bobs like lettuce,radish,beetroot but it was getting hammered by small slugs wood lice an small snails and possibly other bugs I don’t use any chemicals in my garden as I want to step away from chemicals an the food I eat from shops so

    I think Christmas as got to commercialise the real meaning as been lost to expensive gifts an volume and Boxing Day bargains I buy for my kids what they need an that’s it I enjoy the whole festive time spent chilling with family good food games plus a drop of drink

    I was speaking to a local sheep farmer/arible farmer Christmas Eve about land he was saying some land can be had for as little as 10k a acre for agricultural land he said only problem is most land is not sold in small enough lots making it affordable to for normal people to buy like us it’s sold in large lots only suitable for wealthy people to invest in

    If your mates had it to the vets as the dogs irritated by it they would of gave the dog a steroid injection an antibiotics or/and took skin scrapings to find out what the crack is.it could be something simple like a reaction to a flea bite even if the dog is flea treated up to date
