I took brian up on his offer last night, it was a really nice evening and obviously the surroundings when out on the lake are phenominal. we got set of and brian was explaining how all the gear was set up and how things are done properly while I was rowing the boat (a Very knowlegable chap and a good laugh to ) we rowed along chatting about dogs, shooting, ferreting ,trapping etc as you do and then brian took the oars while I rolled a smoke, and then the bell rang on the right hand pole, "shit!" I thought lol so with brian talking me through retrieving the gear and trying not to rush and ta

that was my thinking, there really strict on the terminal apparently (breathalising workers as they enter etc) so thought id just spend my spare time fishing. Think im just gonna take a spinning rod and some lures and go for mackerel and Pollock, coalies etc from the rocks -

I noticed you stayed out of it till someone answered because you didn't know. Now we both know. Lol I was brought up 100 meters from the river Tawe one of the best salmon rivers in Wales I've caught them with nets snare hands and rod, there's been lots of times where I had to have a shower in my old girls house because the bath was full of ice and salmon lol ... Salmon paste is the killer for salmon ... and not the stuff you spread on your sandwiches walshie lol ......What would the tray be for then Ken in the post above? I'm going to be working on sullom voe in the Shetlands for a week or so and thought I may aswell chuck the beach caster in the van for when I'm not working? Has anybody been there before? Fished even? If so where and what baits etc? I no it's work but I'm actually looking forward to it lol

What would you class as a short walk gaf? As I say there will be a few hours in the pub in between so perhaps class it as 2 one mile walks and a bit of socialising? Or should I just drive down? I don't want do her any damage but the way teararses around the house trying to kill the spaniel she'd be better of out walking! Lol she's a big pup? -

Pups finally allowed out today, all jabbed up etc (thank f**k! She's a real live wire lol) I was thinking of taking down to my mates and letting her have a good run in the fields behind his house, with my cocker and his cocker and whippet. He lives about a mile away so it would 2 miles plus running around like a knob lol probably with a couple hours rest in the pub inbetween shouldn't be to much for a pup will it? Cheers ant

I'm very new to lurchers and lurcher work, but I've been involved most other fieldsports since my mum started letting me out on my own. If there's anyway you lot think I can be of any use whatsoever then I'm in! I can make up and donate a few lots to an auction if we decide we need start up funds etc? Had them at a fishery near me, used to be a cracking place but I think they had to shut it down for a couple of years while they sorted these things out. I no it's open again now but I don't think the fishings the same. It was called ratherheath tarn if anybody in Cumbria knows any better?

Mine alway got flounder in the summer as I used to catch loads of them, but as said they stink when you feed fish! But mine really did thrive on them
