you can run a dog as young as you want to mate, the younger you learn them the more chance is they wont forget what they doing if they go to a home where they dont get worked so much, lol are you for real

I think this thread should be deleted, it was just a fella asking for some info on what way bred a line of terriers were ,and has turned into a witch hunt ,i dont know the chap ive heard of him and only seen one terrier bred from his stuff which like i said was abit daft over hard but got the job done if folk have personel problems with a chap would it be better to not go and see him if you have had bad dealings with him there is always 2 sides to storys and rumours and i think it is abit of a sad world when every one jumps on a band wagon on hear say i think should make there own minds up fro

i cant belive theres 42 pages on perhaps the worst bred flop of an earth dog breed or type to grace the british isles and its 42 pages of bitching at that, theres far better terriers and terrier mens dogs to talk about surely

you must have some patience waiting 5 to 6 hours for a fox to bolt,and over here useing 2 dogs is some what of a taboo and frowned upon,i prefer digging to my terriers and working with them but occasionaly a fox will bolt but to me the result is still the same if theres 1 in the bag so long as my terriers are getting worked thats the main thing regards hedz

i dont know about a terrier for ratting rabbiting ad flushing the occasional fox pal,i keep my terriers well away from rabbit if you let a terrier hunt rabbit all the time then encourage it to go to ground for fox it wont be long till its in every rabbit sett it finds and if your dogs working thick brambles etc and goes to ground where you cannot see exactly where it has gone can be a pain in the arse you will probably end up digging every rabbit burrow in your 140 acres,if you are stuck on a terrier for this job make sure you get a locator and collar for it,and i would strongly suggest you ob

i always find it strange why people would part with a good worker in the first place,if a dog is working is sound in the kennel good with other dogs and good with people why get rid ???

your terrier is lucky it didnt get chomped pal i had a terrier do it a good few years back and she ended up being buried i think my bitch was just hyped up though when she did it she normaly ignored stock i dont know if it was anything to do with the smell of them etc think it was just a case of in the wrong place at the wrong time regards hedz

i feed mine in the morning if i am going lamping at night but its only a small amount of high protein dry,i run bitches in season always have just make sure if any one is with you they dont bring a dog as it takes the dogs mind of the job regards hedz

Dont put her with a rat pal thats an old stupid wives tale if she has a timid nature it will only ruin her at that age with a rat, you have to start small and easy build up her confidence with plenty of encouragement give her plenty one on one bite your tounge when she doenst do it shouting or loseing your temper will only knock her confidence shes only 9 months old shes got plenty of time yet dont be in a rush rushing only ruins dogs let nature take its course and gently help along the way try letting her watch an older dog run and take rabbits but keep her on the slip let the older dog have

I dont know the chap pal to be honest,a lad i knew had a terrier a couple of years ago and i asked what way bred it was and he said it was nuttal/wheeler type which the wheeler side you could plainly see, and it was bred by a chap called hemingway from somewhere in south yorkshire cant remember the exact place, the terrier was rather stupid and over hard but got the job done regards hedz

I dont belive i have an established name that is one of the reasons i am miffed ,i dont breed many litters and i dont sell pups to me most of the people that sell pups are the ones with established names i am no better and my dogs are no better than the next mans my dogs may not even be what people call good dogs they suit me and i find them reliable because i know there strengths and weakness as a line,i have been contacte now by the fella that bought these 2 10 month old terriers and we have had a talk and he is not at all pleased he has been duped ,i would of offered him one to be honest he

It has been brought to my attention that a certain individual or individuals that are on here as well, i am told have sold pups to people in the midlands area saying i bred them, i am a little miffed to how this is as i have not sold a pup in ten years and have only had five litters in that time and i know where every pup i have bred is and if its alive or passed on also the said sire of these sold pups has been dead for near three years so how the hell he has managed to sire from the grave i do not know,and it gets better the said dam to these pups is now a ripe old age of twelve so how she h
