seen some crackers back in the late 80s they were basicaly greyhound/deerhound/collie and were worked in northumbria around a place called hipsburn and alnmouth ,ive seen a few since of different types and crosses and owned a good few that would take them but this blokes dogs had that something special about them and made it look easy regards hedz

they were not of frank buck he did not take that side, he more took cyril breays type frank buck prefered the rougher coated black fell type with lakeland blood in it, and cyril breay prefered the smooth jacket type they did line there stuff together but still kept there own type and line brian nuttall had cyril breays stuff when he was younger from his father or grandfather that were friends with cyril breay were they not, brian also prefered the smooth jacket type also and did strive to run that in his line and put his mark on the type which he has suceeded in, and i dont belive his terriers

Brian nuttall was on to a good thing had a good reliable line of working terriers bred from some of the best stuff about at the time and lost sight of what he had and went for the ££££££££s FACT hes churned out more pups than mcdonalds have big macs its abit hard to respect someone when they went the way he did and still the americans lap his stuff up lol

Was that 3 monday 3 tuesday 3 wednesday 3 thursday 3 friday 3 saturday and only 2 on the sunday as it was the sabbath so the dog had a break No i had 7 on the Sunday but only 5 digs Plenty of lads getting good numbers with good dogs and none of them would breed from a young bitch that has barley done any real graft. A young dog with only 20 digs to it's name will probably of not even done 10 hours to ground all together. i wouldnt breed from a bitch that young, but i wouldnt come on here saying i had dug 20 in 1 week with 1 terrier either, so this 20 in 1 week were they

ive yet to see anyone get anywhere beating a pup for anything does nothing but ruin a pups confidence i see no harm in a cuff though when your voice does not work

I wasnt refering to keeping them as pets fella, i was refering to there poor earthdog ability compared to other breeds/types of terrier and there over aggresion to each other the breed as a whole seems very fiery and aggresive to other dogs on a whole but doesnt seem to be able to channel that fire and aggresion into its work regards hedz

What are folks views on this then the patterdale terrier is it a breed or is it a type, i have never really called them patterdales, i have always called them black fell terriers even the difference that seems to have emerged between the smooth coated type and the rough coated type now the smooth coated type seems to have taken on the name as patterdale and the rough coated type has kept the black fell name by most ,i dont know if its just old habit why i just call them all fells but recently i have been slipping up and calling the smooth type patterdales, so whats other peoples views on this

ive been told a few times how you dont see many black jack russels about my terriers are black fell type by the way with no russell in them what so ever and my hounds often get called labradors and theres not one of them a pure colour -
wants a bit of firm handling and a slapped arse get it done now pal while its young or you will have a devil with it when its older dont go to hard on it though and ruin its confidence sometimes your voice in a certain manner is enough if not a couple of sharp slaps should see it right at that age regards hedz
