Looks like you had a good night , we are lucky to see a hand full of rabbits , took my youngster out last night she is now 15mth , found a few more pockets of rabbits , they have been noted for another night but all in all really pleased with her she did a good run with lots of turns , and retrieved live back to hand , she did not make the same mistake as last time dropping the rabbit as soon as she caught it this time i had to prize it out of her mouth

  6. We had the same conversation when i got in last night, i put my rabbit on the gate post , my first of the night, when i came back 2 hours later it was gone, I am still new to the rabbiting game , but wont make that mistake again ! Where i live we have large numbers of foxes in a two our walk i very often see 5 or more , and lots of pigs , I have asked various gun men to take a look but to no avail , Mr fox has wiped out 30 of my hens, this is the worse year i have had with poultry , not going to bother to replace them, Hubbie has a gun but due to his health its very rare he comes out , but i

  8. I run two bitches , my youngest has just had her first season at 13mth , although she was a bit out of sorts while in season , i ran her when she finished and was pleased with the condition she kept on , and she also got 3 2nds at the lurcher show last week end, so she must have been looking ok .I find them easer to train than the dogs , and more loyal ..
  9. you could send a few bunnies this way if you get to many
  10. Think i better take my phone with me after reading this ! hubbie always moaning at me, out there on your own , i would never find you if some thing goes wrong

  18. this is fizz , whippet/ grey x whippet/ grey/ collie / deerhound .
  19. well being a novice at the rabbiting game , may be my dogs are not as bad as i thought ! as long as they try there best and come home in one piece thats good enough for me , and catching the odd rabbit, is like winning the lottery.
  20. i have a whippet x real fun little dog, and a tough little cookie two, easy in the house , great family pet as well,
  21. Fair enough if the ground is like concrete , but if it is just a cover up to stop the racing then shame on them , no lure racing has been cancelled due to conditions in cornwall / devon this year, at the end of the day my dogs love it , keeps them ticking over until i start lamping.
  22. i use a lure but only when i am training a youngster , but this is only because i enjoy the lure coursing this time of year, the rest of the time my dogs seem to pick on my youngest when running the fields and use her as a lure lol
