  1. sussex are supposed to be! heard la bresse are good as well, im getting a cornish cockeral to run with my hybrid layers this year, all the offspring will be for the table regardless of gender and plenty of eggs out of the hybrids for the table.
  2. most fun charity thing i was at was a load of fellas being waxed, few pints later we were bidding to get to wax various "hairy" bodyparts, lads kinda just rolled with it.... followed by a raffle for alcohol and other prizes, followed by a few raffle prize winners starting an impromtue auction selling their raffle prizes in aid of charity, made about 600euro that night if i remember right, whole pub put a few euro in the pot
  3. hills is hidiously expensive, well done for finding it that cheap... its good food, no shite in it but still not as good as barf
  4. http://www.woodworkersworkshop.com/resources/index.php?cat=402 is this any use?
  5. Its the same as movie piracy supports drug dealing. I always thought selling drugs supported drug dealing. propaganda, social conditioning... place has gone to f**k... people just believe the shite their fed, its not the goverments that control the country.... its the media nazis, turning people into pacifists that are afraid to do anything, afraid to break the rules, afraid to think for themselves.... brainwashed en masse
  6. seen this on donedeal... might be of interest to some lurcher owners selling their lurcher, kinda related to this thread seeing as they look to be offering a grand for a lurcher... http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/dogs/1897491
  7. bee-hives;- had a guy travel 3hrs to buy 3 off me secondhand Too many people at it, i looked at this last year!!! just going on what the guy who bought mine off me said!

  9. not many considering i dont own a firearm, been out more than a few times with lads that do and bred more than a few dairy goats, i'll point them out to you if you like! not rocket science
  10. you can tell at a glance its easy to tell a goatling from a mature nanny
  11. that scam has been pulled off many many times, as long as both dogs are of same age, gender and colour it can be hard to detect unless you know the bloodline. one of the few ways it can be detected are if either dogs are microchipped or if the original breeder of the registered dog discovers the deception and kicks up a stink, it has happened before, heard of it happening with a cavalier king charles stud dog, new owners of the pups tryed showing their substandard pups and the judge just happened to be the breeder of the genuine registered dog.
  12. i think people should bring there own bottles of water + bowls, im always cautious about my animals sharing communal "watering holes" WATER TAPS OR HOSE FOR THE DOGS, BOWLS when i read your first post the water troughs ive seen at some shows came to mind! hose/tap is a good idea
  13. my missus would like to see more stalls invoving game cookery, not the game pie type of stalls where you have to buy the product just a complete array of different game cooked by normal folk in different ways and free to try with accompanying leaflets with recipes and ideas etc, they could maybe make their money selling little ingrediant bags for what recipes you like and would try yourself at home minus the game obviously, she doesnt mind the "you catch it il cook it part"but does struggle on ideas especialy after reading some of bert the ferrets posts on here yes i did tell her it was o

  15. in addition to what has already mentioned ferret racing for the kids (and the big kids) no "pet" dog classes no cash prizes, instead practical prizes. good working dog related stalls somewhere to get a decent cuppa for fair money or even free reasonable price to get into show/gamefair, not rip-off prices like some gamefairs.
  16. for those who havent tried goat meat... tastes just like lamb but more tender! sickened myself eating it all the time this winter. you have to remember to only eat nannys under 2yrs (under 18mths preferably) or puck (male) kids under 5mths after that they get awful bitter tasting. its a leaner carcass than lamb, hard to skin but well worth the effort
  17. i paid 50euro for one 2yrs ago, just about made a bushing terrier, pig ugly little dog, i gave her to a fella who came to my house along with a ferret
  18. thats a big ball of money for that particular cross....
  19. try growing some varietys that are not available in your local supermarket, bit more fun as well, purple varietys of potatoes, yellow carrots, round corgettes, heritage varietys as well
  20. if you had to pick 3 "must go to" shows for 2011 what would every1 pick? im deffo going to westmeath again, possibly tullyish + rockview harriers, also thinking about moyne
  21. are you talking about for when the dog is on the end of a lead or for when its in the run? i'm going for the baskerville muzzle. they dog can drink and pant. he's been getting dominate with my mum as he lives with her now so he's getting castrated tomorrow and getting him a muzzle to stop him nipping his stiches. its a good choice when the dog is housed on its own.
  22. there is also the possibility they have a buyer lined up themselves for even more money when someone offers you big money for something add at least 50% on to the price they are offering and you should come up with the real value of the animal/item
