  1. Unless youre going to use knicker elastic i rekon you should get a bigger mould,8mm will be to light, the smallest sinker moulds on ebay are just short of .44 caliber thats about 11mm.Still small if yore using 6mm square though.
  2. ferrets/smoker Hollow trees / branches mate. not sure I'd fancy putting a ferret up against a squirrel, I bet they could do a bit of damage to a ferret couldn't they? or do they just bolt straight away? Squrrels never fight with a ferret, they just bolt straight away, had no problems with squirrel bites affecting the dogs at all? They can inflict some damage on a dog though.Had over 50 in the last year with the catty/lurcher
  3. We had one ferret absolutely covered in them earlier this year, the ground we worked that day had just been cleared of sheep the day before,we used "spot on puppy" flattens them a treat, dont use spot on adult or spot on for cats on ferrets though.
  4. It will be over when he dies, unless his daughter carries on peddeling randomly bred pups that is?
  5. Nice cattys Carl I found this new forum for catty makers/hunters if anyones interested. http://rebelslingshotforum.freeforums.org/
  6. Ive used the stuff women paint on their nails to stop them biting them, tastes feckin awful and stopped a Russell pup chewing the corners of my skirting, every chemist should stock it.
  7. Ive suffered with it on and off for a good while, sounds like you could have something a bit more serious though Gnasher? A mate had it bad and tried allsorts to cure it,eventually he tried acupuncture and it worked really well on him, everybodys different though i suppose.
  8. Its our own fault for putting up with it,the labour [scum] who run my town kick us in the teeth left right and centre but they still landslide every election dont they. Been a lifelong socialist myself but i would cut my fingers off before voting labour these days.TRAITORS.
  9. The first one i ever made was an unused fog headlamp with the yellow film removed from inside the glass,a motorbike battery and a switch with a bakelite casing, cant remember how long ago it was now? Ruined loads of jackets with the leaky battery and had the odd meltdown but it did the job well enough.
  10. Never had one or seen one work but the vast majority of comments allways seem to be negative? I think the problem was Plummer tried to take shortcuts and bred them as a bid for immortality rather than to produce the ultimate working terrier, the really ironic thing is the base stock he started with was very capable in the right hands, and when bred on by genuine digging lads they produced some outstanding terriers. In a conversation with a mate who did breed the base stock on sucessfully Plummer said "i added the bull for the skin, not the reason everyone thinks" i think that about sums i
  11. Assuming the OP is telling the exact truth i think the horse owner could have been more tactful in his approach to start with. Threats to kill the dog seem a bit ott,and not very sensible unless hes going to camp in the field with his horses.
  12. thats what i used and i also put wound powder on the mange area, its lucky here in england we not likely to get sarcoptic mange, thats the bad one Sarcoptic mange is the one your dogs get from foxes mate, its rife in England? Demodectic mange is passed from the bitch to her pups and after flairing at first ussually lies dormant until the infected dog is under stress, whelping for eg. When i worked terriers regularly i had a 45 gallon drum with a lid,and used sheep dip watered down twice the recommended dose for sheep,i would dip the dogs a couple of times each season and never ha
  13. She was an accidental mating to be honest,beddy/grey dog to a ped coursing whippet, shes good day/night,i would "imagine" she could do a lot more than rabbits pre ban,her stamina is incredible
  14. You could do with something like this mate. My lads beddy/grey x whippet, about 21 1/2" tts, lethal on rabbits.
  15. Some good strong gear in Wikes if you have one locally, not bad priced either
  16. Im in the building game and it does seem to be picking up a bit lately,at least round me locally, not surprising with it being spring though,it allways picks up round this time of year as a rule. The problem is people want and expect things done cheaper because of the recession and we just cant get the jobs if we go in with good prices, this obviously reflects in the wages you can pay the lads,so i wouldnt expect to earn a fortune any time soon,i rekon the best bet could be roadworks, plenty of repairs to be done after the bad winter damaged the tarmac. Good luck mate.
  17. My grandfather fought in the war,but i think he fought for freedom, and free speech for EVERYONE not just a bunch of ungrateful cxnts that spit and call our returning soldiers, ask him what he would do with them?cant ask mine he died a few year back.Turkey,s as muslim country and fought on germanys side the muslims have close links to the nazi,s then eh? Spot on Bob. Hitler had close links to the muslims,he met the grand mufti and a muslim SS unit fought for the Nazis, obviously the muslims thought it would be a good idea to side with anyone who hated the jews.
  18. Some people would be actually willing to step in a ring with Tyson the blokes only 44,an ex world champion and f*****g lunatic I think some people have a lot to learn reading this
  19. Welcome aboard mate, Nice looking slingshot you have there, ive never seen that brown square rubber you are using before,is it good stuff?
  20. The catapult lads hang out in "craft & DIY" section on here mate
  21. so that gives them the right to have carte blanche and do as they as they like.as i said not only jews sufered during the war.although you would think by listening to thier bullshit propaganda they were the only ones to sacrifice anything.500,000 british lost thier lifes.500,000 americans lost thier lifes.26million germans and around 29million russians.dont here them bleating on about it 70odd year later.war never brings out the good in people only the bad.why stop at the germans?the french, dutch, italians.latvians and a few others were only to glad to have tier own soldiers andpoliceman round
  22. Looks a belter mate, reminds me of some we had/bred years ago.
  23. If he doesnt yap at squirrels mate i doubt he will ever be a yapper.
  24. I would also leave the deads until the back end, plenty of sport to be had on lures in summer if thats your thing, just use gear strong enough to bully them out and rest any pike caught in the margins until its fully recovered and tries to swim away strongly. If youre intending to fish the Idle Steve i can tell you the best dead,Lamprey hands down, fresh spratts [not previously frozen]are pretty good as well, you can catch on most deads but these 2 will out fish anything else on the Idle. The Torn is worth a chuck as well, not many big fish in it but plenty of action on the jacks, suspended
  25. Not sure about x'ing Russells to Lakelands making them to big to go to ground? but, If i were you mate i would take the dog out with an airgun and shoot a few squirrels for him, encourage him to rag the dead squirrels and hopefully he will take to it,if he gets keen on them he should start looking for them, most dogs bond to squirrels easily, and the sight of one running through tree branches gets them really exicted and most will yap when they see one, hopefully the behaviour will cross over when he gets on a rabbit and he will yap. Ratting wont make him yap,or at least he shouldnt yap h
