I know its a bit illegal to shoot birds and each other mate,i meant in an ideal world we could organise a cull of buzzards and mass suicide of shooters, some laws are made to be broken you know. You seem to like quoting hares are £3 each, whats a pheasant on shoot day now,£30? cheaper to leave some ground game to keep the lads happy i rekon. Can i ask you what finacial loss you suffer from a farmer shooting hares....eh?..NONE!! And you think its ok to go and f**k someone over finacially because you cant get your sport?...Well if you piss folk off like that then fall outs will happen and

Yea pheasants arent arent worth transporting to the dealers, thats why a lot get buried after shoot day,see above, hares being thrown under hedges, lets not have no double standards. "Have given up ferreting,so the rifle is the only way i got that i can keep the numbers downwith and keep my permission" That statement makes as much sense as Harry Hill mate, you insinuate you only shoot to keep your permission to shoot as all you do is shoot I dont know one shooter who enjoys missing his target,on the other hand i know plenty of lurcher lads that doff their cap to a good hare that bea

What have the English ever done for for us?
steveS.Yorks replied to undisputed's topic in General Talk
All foreign countries Steve. Including Scotland and Wales?? I know Derbyshire is a bit "out in the sticks" and you might not have noticed but 75% of England is a foreign country, the clues in my location. Wont be long until all the "British" need each other. -

Ok "English" not British,i think most realised what i meant? The popular name for the arseholes who cause the mess is British governemnt" is it not? Who exactly do you want indipendance from? as far as im concerned were all British,Wales,Scotland are just regions [no offence meant] theres no water between us last time i looked. -

Seems like a lot of people feel badly done to by the British, understandable. Who are these British who go round invading, stealing and generally pissing off everyone? Its not me,im a f****n bricky, never made a decision to attack or steal off any other nation in my life,i think you should say "British government" when you want to moan about British policies, not just British, its got f**k all to do with most of us. And i rekon the British authorities treat their own as bad if not worse than anyone else,Britain is a shithole now and nobody cares or can stop it,were f****d. -

Simple to get the hares back in good numbers Step 1,get all your local shooters together and hold a Buzzard shoot. Step 2,after the Buzzard shoot arrange all the shooters in a big circle[bigger the better] and get each one to shove his barrel up the next blokes arse and pull the trigger. Problem solved.

Last time i went out with him his hounds false marked a rock earth,i was invited to enter my dog and when he said "not at home" Maurice thought it was my dog,i offered him a bet which he declined,Maurice entered his own terrier and she also said nothing at home, the keeper bloked the hole and set a trap, still no fox after a week. Hes a nice enough bloke and his daughters a keen hunter, but i would'nt credit them with much more, hunts tend to just get dogs and try them haphasardly and keep what enters easily, theres much more to it than that.

Seen fish at earths before, carp but only pasties,it helped us get some land once, the farmer had dug a carp puddle and although we had permission up and down the valley he wouldnt let us on his land,we found some of his carp buried by a fox on our neighbouring permission and took it to show him He gave us permission straight away.

Lurcher rarely drinks??
steveS.Yorks replied to rob190364's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Worry when she constantly drinks mate,i doubt theres anything wrong with her at all, mines the same. -
You dont have much chance of a legal case if a farmer shoots your dog, especially with the tories in government at the moment. If that farmer in Ireland did end up a cabbage i bet not many dogs ever got shot in that area again, food for thought.

Who would recommend a grew to a new starter wihout knowing the land? and most of the time it dont matter how flat/soft the land is anyway a grew will still find something to hit Listen to Skycat mate[as much as i dont like admitting a woman is right ] shes talking sense. My own thoughts would be a beddy/whippet/grey type,beddy/whippets are stubborn as a rule but a bit of grey sorts it out,if you get a genuine one bred by lads that work them and have bred to keep a pup,you wouldnt go far wrong.Thyre fast enough, good feet as a rule and i know plenty that are happy with theirs,at the s -

Simple answer OT,is the lamp and rifle, these lads were digging well before the gun nuts lit it up like Blackpool. We never did anywhere near those numbers up there[80's/90's] but i cant remember blanking, did all our land in a rota so werent up there every week,a mate told me about a farmer he knows [lives near Ibel] who's shot "thousands" of foxes over the last 30 years, thats got to make a big difference. We gave all the land up eventually because of the badgers, just not worth the hassle. good points steve --whr thr lads taking high numbers with lurchers in them days?or whr lurche -

I had a hell of a lot of permission up there at one time and it was never short on foxes, some pretty bad places though, these lads would have had some good tales to tell no doubt about it. Good find. -
Sounds like kennel cough mate, Not much you can do exept keep her warm and let it run its course,if she keeps eating and is generally well i wouldnt waste your money at the vets. If you have more dogs try and seperate them as theyll all end up with it most likely.

"first of all why do you need to pipe up for no bollocks? hes a grown man ffs. all you said above is complete bollocks your talking from "hear say" im telling you what i know. as for the meet up my life wont be in danger pal i can assure you that" 1,I back my mates Bogger,i know the truth and Dell did nothing exept lamp a few rabbits, the keepers thought they were untouchable and went ott, unless you condone nearly killing someone over a few rabbits? I could ask you the same question, why bother defending your mate when he obviously didnt give a f**k,even for his own life and family

then why do you come on here? seriously all you do is moan how bad it is. plus your a has been with no respect. "Has been with no respect" MUPPET! steve ive got my reasons for disliking del, maybe he has done a bit of hunting in the past i dont know and dont realy care as ive got no interest in a man that speaks ill of the dead. would you say a man that was celebrating the fact that a man who used to catch him poaching had commited suicide? as i dont that in my eyes is very very low and he will get no respect from me from now on, ive asked him to meet me

longest time youve had a dog to ground
steveS.Yorks replied to old timer123's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Err did you notice my location [or manage to dicifer it?] when we spoke in the lurcher section,or were you to busy calling me a c**t? One phonecall sunshine, thanks for being a divvy and posting this. -
I took more than my share with terriers and lurchers day and night undi,i understand foxes very well thanks. Maybe you do but it didn't come across that way in your post I just get a bit fed up with muppets who shouldnt even have a dog making life hard for the rest of us. I think daytime terriers and lurchers takes some beating sport wise, foxes arent allways straight forward in the lamp granted, but its easier than doing it in daylight in my opinion.
-
well if thats the case ile give you a knock to come with us show us how its done. So lamping foxes is a highly skilled craft then is it Ill give you a few pointers, walk into wind, have a powerful lamp, maybe a call or if you want to go really ott use some kind of bait to draw them to a particular spot. Or you could[and probably do] buy a landy, drive the fields, smash a few gates/fences and throw a useless heavy bull x that couldnt catch me at them, pretty popular round here that is. its like reading a book easier said than done so you must have bagged up every time you went out
