  1. I know what your saying mate I bought 3 days as a thank you for friends for this coming season on a driven duck shoot down here £120 per gun 10 guns including hospitality and a bag of approx 100 birds, knowing the shoot it's a 10/11-1 day so we can expect to fire at least 1000 cartridges a day, overages worked on £5 per bird maybe it's just me but there is some bargain shooting to be had without the hassle of putting birds to wood.
  2. cost you a few more quid for a driven bird here lab.. Yeah al bet some places are into the £35-£45 bracket now mate but those are the places that have already built up an excellent reputation for quality birds no doubt... Just shortly things will have to change i think as the amount of people with that kind of money to splash around is drying up..............bad times for the industry.. down here there seems to be more demand than ever I spoke to 2 big commercial shoot owners last month and they both said that demand had been so high that they had sold all their days by the end

  4. cops are on this site, getting info. if lads are silly anoth to post shite ,there problem Yes but they are damaging what little faith the farming community already has in genuine working dog lads... Trust me I have seen a real downward spiral in the last few years, at one time farmers could be swayed even if they were anti lurcher, you could show them otherwise, that people could be trusted...Lately lads are ripping up fields left right and centre in 4x4's and subarus... the truth is, these farmers won't let anyone on with dogs no more... what little faith they had is gone.... 6. His book 'The SAS survival handbook' is a very good read. I read it front to back countless times before I lost it. It's probably gathering dust in the corner of a cupboard somewhere at my nan's house.. the mans a legend he was the youngest ever to pass selection for the sas at 18 years old and that was after only one year of service he then spent 26 years in the sas rising to sergeant major and working as a survival instructor more a been there done that guy rather than the two wanabee's
  7. simple facts if you thought it hard to get employed with the qualifications you have now take a course in keeping then see just how hard it is to get a job, I know for jobs that have had over 500 applicants and that is for underkeeper positions I guarantee you this there will be lads on those courses that have lived/breathed keeping since they could walk and will still struggle to get a job. Sounds harsh I know but the job prospects for keepers at the moment is not good and that's putting it lightly if you peruse it good luck but please don't let the colleges bullshit you about job prospects
  8. Ask for both they can but say no but it don't hurt to ask

  11. I got some Denagard and some soludox if you want to borrow some mate f*****g shitty weather plays them birds up a treat funny though a few weeks ago I was moaning to you that my covers had no rain and needed some, bloody things have had enough now though
  12. You have a girl friend??
  13. The 308 is fine but when you start to extend the range to 1000 yards plus the 308 makes the transition from supersonic to subsonic not the best situation for ultimate accuracy the bigger guns have the edge at distance as they stay supersonic longer and have better ballistics from heavier bullets with better ballistic coefficients. Note I am not suggesting you would shoot game at these ranges.
  14. He didn't get charged with the killing of any birds just using pigeons as bait for bop and some welfare charges funny though whilst they where filming the trap a unidentified man wearing a balaclava went to the keepers traps yet the keeper wore no balaclava I would think a fit up sounds about right. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-13041097

  16. I used a mates a few times but for me although it was fantastically accurate and built I found I disliked the stock I found it great for prone work but far to dictatorial for any other position I guess it really depends on your application I would look at the RPA if it is for hunting over range work

    hunting ban

All of this assumes that the anti's give a f**k about animals but the fact is they don't it is all about the crusade and having a reason to live their shitty lives they need a purpose to feel fulfilled and if that is fighting what they see as the moral high ground then so be it.How sad that they feel the need to worry about what we do when most of us enjoy our lives hunting that we don't have time to give a f**k what others do with their's
  23. My cert says "unrestricted condition" The FAC rated shotgun and ammunition shall be used for the shooting of Fox,Vermin and ground game and for practice on ranges,or land over which the holder has lawful authority to shoot.
