  1. Yes mate i tried it and it works, can you buy the keyring magnets from deben? Id imagine there easier to use in the field. Ive got a load. pm me your address and I`ll send you one.
  2. Most of it is sewn up bud round here. Cant hurt knocking a few doors over the hill though eh?
  3. Closed season starts in 6 days till the 15 june, that applies to all the rivers I think. Theres quite a few day tickets waters (lakes) which dont honor the closed season any more. Check the EA website for liscence prices, you might not need one for your nephew depending on his age. As for river fishing tackle, I would go for as long a float rod as you can get away with, and an avon bodied float. Trotting maggots down river should see a few different species caught. Good luck bud.
  4. Who are you to knock what I do? Come to think of it, did you even contribute anything of value to this thread.. No. Troll.
  5. So your going for the traditional net, a spliced loop... You only want to thread your lines through the top row and bottom row of meshes, not down the side edges, I dont know if you knew this, but I seen its not been mentioned, same as the selvedge, just along the two longest edges of the finished net. Appologies if I`ve read it wrong. If it was me, I would be thinking about stopping at 12 yards and make a 6 yard stop net, with 100% bagging, they come in handy when using longnets. Then start a new net at 14 meshes, plus selvedge. It would make a nicer net, use less materials, get finishe
  6. ha ha ha. i dont rate see fishing. you could wait a while for a bite. ...... so the carpers dont take tents tellys. and need a wheel barrow to get there gear down ... and for what a puddle fish uve gotta put back . . No, I dont rate sea fishing, its shite if I`m honest, round here anyway. I dont take a telly, I read books. If you were going fishing for 4 days 3 nights, what would you sleep in then? Numpty.
  7. Couple of cheap kits from argos, you aint broke the bank then if it doesnt work out. Books, dvd`s, youtube and your local tackle shop will usually be pretty helpful. Learn a couple of knots and a bit of fish care and safety and you`ll be ready to rock. I dont rate sea fishing, from the shore anyway, you could be waiting a while for a bite, unless your fishing for mackeral. In which case, a rod, reel and some feathers is all you`ll need. Magazines are good for a beginer, but after a few issues, you`ll realise it just all recycled. Hope it works out, tight lines...
  8. Gutted Dave, I was just about to PM you. Glad you got them sorted.
  9. I done this topic a few weeks ago... Its called matam. Let them crack on is what I say.
  10. I remember him. Does he still come on Paulus, I wonder how he got on with that, He was gonna let us know how it went either way. This site is good for a laugh. Ive had some good days out with some genuine blokes who know a bit about a bit. And its also good for a bit of quality handmade gear.
  11. I thought that Zero dark thirty was quite good. Theres a relatively new one with Ray wishbone in, called "13" about a giant game of russian roulette. That was quite good too. When all the gang banging films got mentioned, I cant believe American history X didnt get a look in. Stay away from an Eastern europian film called "Taxadermia", boy is it Fecked up.
  12. Paypal - conniving wankers.

I got an almost instant refund, so quick the money didnt leave my account, but the feckers still took it and are holding it for god knows how long and for no apparent reason. Must be making millions in interest.

Aye they were doing that with my payments till i complained, then complained again and they lifted the 'hold'....fuckers

  13. Have you got many left bud, is what I meant. Just sorted the Mrs. Deffo interested.
  14. Anyone got any Serama hatching eggs for sale?

  15. You know yourself, when a ferret is stuck in a net, once you get the head and front legs through, they slide out easily, I thought the same would apply with a collar. Feck, Ive had them really tight on the neck - and they have still slipped off. Its not happend this season, thank feck as its a right pain digging to just a collar, if you can find it. If it works for you bud... I just haven`t come across it before..
  16. Im surpirised you`ve not lost a collar yet bud. Like socks said, just put it on them and leave them to get used to it. You can do this "training" at home so theres no f***ing about when you go out with them.
  17. "Only thing that will eat moles are owls" My bad... Another gem of wisodom told to me by my ex mentor.
  18. I double knot everything, thats just me.. If your confident and comfortable with a single, do it.
  19. go for the green spun poly mate, nice to knit with Last time I ordered from Nige, he said the brown was better to knit with? So thats what I got, maybe different batches... It was a right pain in the arse getting used to it being so thin, I had about 9 friction breaks in the first few yards, but got there in the end. His longnet twine IS spun poly, and is about as thick as 4z nylon, maybe a little thicker. It makes a nice net at 14 meshes plus selvedge. I then used the thicker purse net spun poly for selvedge. Ok thanks,is double knot best, have ordered the twine, ordered the green before
  20. Feck me Millet, no wonder your getting rid of those furminators! Seriously though, that looks like one lucky dog.

  22. It might be a bit cheaper direct from the manufacturers, but you would have to buy a shitload. I dont think you`d get any proper bargains as they will have a set colour range that sells consistently so they will have no need to get rid cheap, all other colours are made to order in big batches, so again, not cheap. I think white is the cheapest. What you want is 4-4-12 or 4 fold.
  23. FFS. Gutted for you James. You dont need this with your health at the moment. Its got to be someone who knows all your crew surely? Maybe a rival pest controller? Very strange its happening to all your pals and work mates. Hope you get to the bottom of it - Pronto.
